Kolanse? But there wouldn't be much point in that...

Depends - will Emperor Rhulad have swallowed up all those peripheral kingdoms between MT and RG? He's just the type of insane leader who constantly needs to wage wars of expansion.

I'm not sure even Rhulad will have conquered an entire continent. Expansionist, yes, but the Edur army is tiny, and he can't rely entirely on Lether's military.

The really important question which I'm sure everyone wants to know the answer to is this: how does Limp break his leg in RG?
Avoid being seen as racist by saying, "I'm not a racist, but ..." prior to making a racist comment.

@ Caladanbrood: The Edur army is not tiny. Remember that the fleet that caused Twilight to surrender Fent Reach was HUGE and that was only part of the fleet, not to mention the army invading on land.

If Hanan Mossag wants to rid himself of the CG, he might consider trying to contact the Malazans. He may also assist them from beihind the scenes... he hates Rhulad, after all. So the 14th might have some help.

But Dolorous, which other brother? He killed Trull himself. Fear abandoned him from all accounts and so no body was to be found.... unless Taralack Veed is now purporting that Icarium killed Trull (a lie)??

A sky keep lands directly on him?

I'm not proposing any theories, Pat just made a point of noting that, while Karsa has killed one brother, there are two others who could die during RG. I think he was just trying to cast doubt on the certainty that Karsa would be the "brother-killer" who faces Rhulad.

They can depend on the Letheri army, which itself was in expansionist mode. The review makes it sound like its business as usual in a souped up police state version of the Letheri empire with Rhulad glibbering and drooling away in some palace.

Hmmmm.

Finished now.

I'll save a spoilered dissection for when a few more people have read it, so now I'll just say in this topic that I agree it's an improvement on TBH. I'd put it alongside DG and MT, though it's not as brilliant as MoI imo. There's just too many plot threads for all of them to have the desired impact, and that hurts it a little bit.

Also, prepare to be surprised.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
