SUPERGIRL #36, new creative team launch, with lead writer K. Perkins. Man, this is what this title needed. This issue was better than ANYTHING that has been done with the character since the Nu52 began. Even better than the first arc (which I liked). Space Hogwarts (Crucible Academy) for Kara, who had of recent made a string of very bad decisions (a bf who wanted to destroy earth, and an escapade as a Red Lantern), needs guidance. This is something she's been headed to for a while, and the first issue of it was a great table setter. Fully back on board for this title.

Oh, and in other darker comic news...apparently the co-creator of RAT QUEENS has been accused of domestic abuse by is estranged wife.

He was arrested for it, and it's true.

This kind of dampens my enthusiasm and I don't think I can bring myself to buy the title anymore, which is sad.

EDIT: The wife deleted her blog about it which featured pictures of her bruising, but you can still read it VIA Google cache...and it sickens me even more.

Well, that kind of decides it. I can't support a co-creator who is an abuser of women.

Dumping RAT QUEENS off the pull list.

Agreed.

Having seen the old pilot I was impressed even then (no idea why it didn't get picked up to series, that was a tight little pilot!), but this is a stellar series and deserves to be more widely appreciated.

Latest issue of GOTHAM ACADEMY continues with the goods. Great work and entertaining as hell.

Jim Zub's WAYWARD is still kicking along great. The Tokyo setting and the Japanese spirit ghost supernatural element is great!

Tried out the new Mignola HELLLBOY title HELLBOY & THE BRPD: 1952 which is basically the story of Hellboy's first missions with the BRPD in the 50's. There is just something Mignola always brings to the Hellboy titles that makes them compelling! This is the new ongoing, and on the strength of the first issue, I'll likely put it on my pull list.

I kinda thought Jodorowsky lost touch with the story in interests of displaying his art/intersex beings/weirdness.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

You just described Alejandro Jodorowsky.

LOL

No seriously. Also, if you've not seen JODOROWSKY'S DUNE yet....please do. It's amazing and the insight into his head is fascinating.

Yeah, all of Jodorowsky's stuff is like Dune on LSD, loads of LSD, Arrakis, but with LSD instead of spice...and it's awesome

I had Betty as my facebook pic for awhile. :) I love me some Betty. I think I am going to Cosplay Hannah at the Comicon though. I am too tall to do Betty right.

Good new is that Vol 2 is finally up for pre-order. So is Saga Vol 4

Just got an iPad finally on Boxing Day, and downloaded Comixology with an eye to dropping more than half my physical pull list to digital...tempted to get Hickman's FF run in the meanwhile...I'll PROBABLY join Abyss in the Marvel Unlimited. I mean $10/month is hard to beat.

I did it, (they have a $10 for both the first and second month deal right now) and I've spent all day knee deep in Hickman's FF...which is phenomenal!

What should I dip into after that?

This is really addictive BTW Abyss, I hold you personaly responsible.
