just finished reading this titles:

Batman #9 - what issue started this court of owls?
Batman and Robin #9 - nice to see a smart and awesome robin this time, who's his mother?
Deathstroke #9 - so there was zealot, don't like her hair,
Demon Knights #9 - me like demon knights,
Frankenstein #9 - don't know about this one,
Green Lantern #9 - why does sinestro remind me of hitler?
Grifter #9 - could be interesting except for that "chosen one" stuff,
Legion Lost #9 - really hate this cross-overs,
Resurrection man #9 - again, cross-overs,
Suicide Squad #9 - saw in a forum, how they hated harley quinn's new origin, like to see that,
Superboy - atleast now, he's not wearing shades and jacket, but now he's a clone,

some new 52 titles are either hit or miss, there's some which i would really like to continue reading, and others just so-so, only a few left,

on other side: witchblade #156 and the incredible hulk #8 - guest star punisher

The whole run from #1 builds to it.

Damien's (Robin) mother is Talia Al'Ghul

if that's the case, i will have to start reading from the start, as i really like how snyder writes, its deep and has a certain flow in it that i'm getting to like,

Quote

Damien's (Robin) mother is Talia Al'Ghul

is she Ra's Al'Ghul's sister or just a relative, coincidentally i have just watched Batman Begins, so my interest in Batman and Ra's Al'Ghul was heightened,
Christian Bale for me have become the best batman, the cast was perfect, except for the role of Rachel Dawes, as she has been played by 2 different actress,
but i prefer katie holmes,

just read this titles:

Aquaman #9 - how can he teleport?
Batman Dark Knight #9 - how can they put consistencies in his timeline? as i see it, he's the most busy guy right now in DCnU, more so than Superman, as he is also a member of the Justice League AND Justice League International,
Green Lantern: New Guardians #9 - so, who is the prime Green Lantern, is it Hal Jordan? 'cause Kyle is considered renegade, Guy is in JLI, John is in GLC,
I, Vampire #9 - really don't like anything vampire related, pre and post-twilight, w/ the excemption of Underworld as Kate Beckinsale in leather beats even the hate,
The Flash #9 - not really a fan of his, as i also don't like quicksilver, where as QS, is a B char, Flash is a bonafide hero of DCnU, but still its interesting, might check out more issues,
The Savage Hawkman #9 - i still don't know how i feel about this one,

Talia is the daughter of Ras.

really, well, i'm smiling right now, Posted Image thinking of the movie, how Ra's would accept Bruce as son-in-law,

just finished Superman #9 - so, Superman lifts things, may seem incomplete without those,
why is it that i find him more interesting in JL but just so-so in his own series?

Well, he's (Ras) actually IN the DARK KNIGHT RISES as well (he even has a character poster that just dropped) and Marion Cottilard is rumored to be playing Talia.

will look forward to that in Dark Knight Rises,

just read:

Batwing #9 - the attack of the talon seems so random, didn't even tell why he targeted his prey, as that one wasn't even a gotham leader, not unlike that descendant blah blah on the other titles,
i don't know, for stretching the night of owls crossover/storyline this much, i got bored and tired of it already,
also, if iron man have war machine, i guess batman have batwing?

All Star Western #9 - is this even part of the Bat Family? 'cause i don't see any reason to include this on the NoOs, it was even underplayed and irrelevant,
is that THE JONAH HEX of the movies? i didn't know,

Couldn't they bring Azrael back? a series/mini-series of him would be good,

forgot to include these:

The Fury of Firestorm #9 - how many are there actually, reminds me of Sunspot,
Red Lanterns #9 - LanternBleez reminds me of Morrigan/Lilith, w/ that succubus motif,

Green lantern Corps #9 - is there a time that Hal/Kyle/Guy/John were in the same series?

Last time the four Earth Lanterns were together was back in the War of the Green Lanterns series that wrapped up the Old DC, but even then it was a crossover event of the three Lantern titles at the time (with Hal in the main GL, Kyle and Jon in GLC and Guy in Emerald Warriors). I've not kept up to date with GL apart from Johns' run on the main, having dropped GLC from my list of pulls back around the time Blackest Night was being released (this despite GLC -- and particularly Tomasi's run -- often being superior to Johns' work on the main). There were just too many GL titles, many of which barely touched upon the larger arc that Johns has been exploring since 2004. And it only got worse with the creation of the DCnU (what are we at now? Four GL titles? Five? I gave all the #1's a chance but never went back for a #2 beyond the main).

It's a problem any long-time Batman reader is all-too-familiar with. Even more so. As polarising as his run has been among fans, I LOVE what Grant Morrison has done with Bruce since 2007. I have all 70 issues of his run thus far and have been eagerly awaiting the return of Batman Inc (finally!). But I mostly limit myself to works solely by Morrison himself and largely ignore the tie-ins and spin-offs. I never bothered with the Nightwing run of RIP, nor the Outsiders or 'tec issues (though I was already reading Robin and caught the two issues involved in the arc). Likewise I never bothered with the multiple Battle for the Cowl or Reborn titles either (BftC featuring a slew of shitty one-shots and Reborn consisting of the newly launched GCS and Streets, in addition to a weak 'tec run and bland Outsiders -- the high points being the launches of Yost's Red Robin and Miller's awesome Batgirl run). In fact, the only writer whose run on Batman I've religiously followed in the Morrison era was Scott Snyder's work on 'tec (if you've not read it yet, treat yourself), which made him taking the helm of the main title all the more exciting (and Court/Night of Owls hasn't disappointed yet).

As to the DCnU in general, I'm pretty selective with my pulls. I loved the new Supergirl, found it to be an intelligent departure from Kara's usual treatment, but let it fall by the wayside regardless (I think #6 is the last I read). I'll stick with Snyder's Batman until he's replaced (because he has the Midas Touch) and I'm still reading Johns' GL out of some sort of tortured obligation to myself (it's been 8 years, after all). Batwoman was one of the few titles I was super excited for, only to find myself slightly under-whelmed (Williams and Blackman don't quite meet the standard set by Rucka. And Williams NEEDS to take on the art again. Reeder and McCarthy have tried valiantly, but Williams made it his own and it's unfair to expect other artists to mimic his distinctive style). I've kept up with Batman and Robin for my Ibn al Xu'ffasch fix, and while I applaud what Tomasi has done with the run thus far I can't help but feel that the Bruce/Damian pairing lacks some of what made Morrison's run with Dick/Damian so much fun (though in fairness, Tomasi appears to be milking the dramatic narrative of father-son conflict in a darker tale than Morrison's). I'm enjoying JL well enough and was glad when #7 caught up to speed. I'm LOVING Teen Titans and really, really want to love Superboy as well (considering that Lodbell is penning both and they're so tightly interconnected) but I HATE Silva's artwork so much that I just can't force my way through an entire issue. Batgirl is something I could spend an entire essay on. Suffice to say that it's not as bad as I expected but it could be the next TransMet (what kind of fucked up comparison is that?) and I'd still hate it on principle. Which leaves Red Hood. I could pen an essay on it as well. Mostly about how I don't give a rats ass what you think -- it's fun, and I love it.

And look, I'm a DC fanboy. Hands down. But Uncanny X-Force trumps anything I mentioned above. You've been told.

I haven't read many comics in recent years, but I did just read We3, and it was awesome. That's all I wanted to say. Goodbye forever.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

well, i'm trying them all out, i'm checking which titles i will like and stick to it, until it either disappoints or bogs down,
and i'm also catching up, as i have read comics before but never have followed faithfully, consider my interest heightened by the avengers movie and the upcoming Dark knight rises,
will check those you recommended, thanks,

Grant Morrison walked past me outside my flat in Glasgow the other day (he's from here, and his mum lives just up the road from me, my nurse flatmate actually looked after her in hospital where she talked constantly about how proud she is of him). I didn't speak to him, partly because I wasn't entirely sure it was him until I got in and checked what he looked like, and partly because I might have punched him for making me cry like a baby with bloody We3.

WE3 is still (for me) at the top of a very short list of the cream of the crop in comics EVER. I own the floppies, the trade and the new hardcover and I've read it numerous times...and it never ceases to reduce me to a bucket of blubbering man-tears. Every. Damned. Time. Morrison made what might be his magnum opus be a 3 issue series about a dog, a cat and a rabbit. Stunning.

QFT. I have read it six times easy and it breaks me every single time. Repeatedly.

The only GN that has ever gutpunched me as badly was PRIDE OF BAHGDAD, which was arguably worse. In a good way.

SUPERGIRL went a BIT off the rails in the last few issues with a side story of Black Banshee and Silver Banshee...but it's not awful...just not as good as the Worldkiller's Arc when she first arrived on earth...that said, we are ramping up to a new arc where she will face off against a new villain and then challenge Superman in the Fortress of Solitude about the bottled city of Kandor...What I find is best about this revamped Supergirl is the notion that she really was simply ripped from her home, everyone she knew died, and her baby cousin is now older than her and understands things she doesn't. She's still an angry, broken teenager who has been displaced...and that makes her really compelling actually.

The same goes for Manpul's FLASH...the first arc was excellent, but the second arc has been a TAD less impressive (storywise, the art is still gorgeous), but seems to be shaping up to a bigger future arc.

It's nice to see DC actually paying attention to continuity across the board...something I wasn't expecting them to do actually.

yah, only a couple more, then i'll have had read all issues of Supergirl, only just read #9 of Flash, so i can't yet say i'm into it, its ok i guess,
only a few left, but i already know much of those titles i'll continue to read, which i really like - Birds of Prey, World's Finest, Supergirl, Batgirl, Batman, Red Hood, Suicide Squad, Demon Knights, Ravagers, Teen Titans and Voodoo,
out of curiosity, why do the rest of them characters change looks and costumes when they're in a cross-over? for ex - Legion Lost/Teen Titans - Ravagers/The Culling cross-over?

Just read this titles:
Suicide Squad #7-8 - pretty lazy on the harley quinn origin, i get why people hate that,
Red Hood #8 - kinda nice actually, him interacting w/ tim, which is red robin now,
Animal Man, Swamp Thing - not my type of stories really, but they are interesting, still undecided if i'll continue,

others:
Ultimates #9 - i'm looking forward to reading this entire series, and all the ultimate ones - thor, spiderman, x-men,
Astonishing X-men #49 - if there wasn't Wolverine and Gambit and Iceman in here, i won't be reading this, and still not used w/ that gay stuff,
Witchblade #146, 155-156 - i'm really enjoying this one right now,
It's not who I am underneath.. but what i do that defines me - Batman, Batman Begins; 'Without our deaths, sir, there would be no crime. Thus, no punishment to match,' 'Mortal Sword - '
'We are done, my friend. Now, in this manner, we choose the meaning of our deaths' - Mortal Sword Brukhalian to Veteran Nilbanas, siege of Capustan
'Ippen shinde miru (want to try dying this once) ?' - Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)

so, it seems i have to add more titles in w/c i would like to continue reading, as i read Aquaman & the Flash, 2 things that made me more interested about them:
1) Aquaman's friends/the Others - would like to see more of them, too bad about that Aiel-looking Kihana,
2) The Flash's time stream
usually, i don't like stuff about time travel/futuristic things, as they are so much convoluted and nonsensical, also puts a headache with trying to understand them, but i got to say, that time stream was pretty neat,
also, do all Lanterns have to speak in rhymes for them to recharge their rings, just curious,Posted Image

i'm slowly making my way back to marvel after x-men, just read Avenging Spider-man #6, and boy, do i miss his witty lines, i LOL'd at the Punisherette/Punishini/Punishella, hehe,

just attended a comics/toy-con yesterday, many good stuff there - Anime - DVDs, CD soundtracks, Manga, Gundam model kits - HG & RG 1/144, MG 1/100, PG 1/60, Figures and figurines - Figma, Nendoroid, Gashapons, Kotobukiya, RAH DX toys, Comics - mostly Marvel and DC, a little Top Cow, DC Universe and Marvel Legends toys, WWE wrestling toys,
but mostly they've been advertising The Dark Knight Rises, i envy the one who won a limited BatMobile toy exclusively for the event, dang, not my lucky day,
i could only spare a few comics mostly back issues of Witchblade, Spawn, Lady Death and Gen 13, but i got a limited #1 issue of Witchblade, so many good stuff, so limited budget, but my consolation is that i pre-ordered that very same day a - 1/144 RG Justice Gundam to arrive by next month, can't wait, :harhar:
It's not who I am underneath.. but what i do that defines me - Batman, Batman Begins; 'Without our deaths, sir, there would be no crime. Thus, no punishment to match,' 'Mortal Sword - '
'We are done, my friend. Now, in this manner, we choose the meaning of our deaths' - Mortal Sword Brukhalian to Veteran Nilbanas, siege of Capustan

Everyone who ever has ever read a DC comic needs to go read this webcomic rtfn... http://limbero.org/littleleague/18

That strip is PURE fucking genius.

LOVE it.

Seriously, i just finished the whole archive. It is PERFECT.
And i love how it's done to look like an old newspaper strip.

If you didn't catch last week's TRIPLE SIZED #50 it's awesome.

And #51 this week may be the bestest (Little) Batman moment Ever. In a cute way.

So Scott Snyder's BATMAN event NIGHT OF THE OWLS has ended.

Spoiler

A solid and memorable 10 issue arc as there has ever been, and portions of it will be held up with famous Arcs like KNIGHTFALL, NO MAN'S LAND, and THE LONG HALLOWEEN as what can really be brought to the Batman title to make it fresh. Much enjoyed! I hear tell they bring a "faceless Joker" back next issue (since he had hid facial skin removed most recently in DETECTIVE COMICS).

In other comics reads: The end of SUPERGIRL's Banshee arc was....meh...while I REALLY like this incarnation of Kara Zor-El and how she came to earth and has interacted with humans so far....the Siobhan and Banshee arc has been tepid at best...and now we also have had some sort of standalone issue with a nanobot-suited perp who exists solely to be a vehicle to get Kara and Siobhan's brother together briefly. Which really felt tacked on. So while I LOVE the character's incarnation, I'm finding the stories SERIOUSLY lacking. I'll give the next arc a go and if it doesn't shape up I'll drop the title.
