Finished Whedon's X-Men run. I thought it was good, The rest of my summer Marvel reading will be Busiek's Avengers run and Brubaker's Captain America. Both very lengthy, so this should last well beyond the summer.
Also working on book one of Doom Patrol by Morrison and it is amazing, this is some real good comics. Morrison is entrenching himself right next to Ellis in my top tier.

Have you read THE INVISIBLES? It's solid Morrison fare as well.

No, but I bought it in the last Comixology sale. It's high up in the queue. Also bought Morrison's Animal Man and We3.
Speaking of sales, Comixology has a buy one DC book and get the second free. Going to complete my Morrison collection with JLA. Yesterday I bought a bunch of the Berserk manga volumes with the Dark Horse sale. Dropping a bunch of cash on Comixology lately.

Finished JLA ROCK OF AGES by Morrison and Porter...and it was really excellent! It's not QUITE the heights you all said it was (but I think I'd have been more impressed by it if I'd read it when it came out), but it was a damned great story, and easily one of the best JLA stories I've read!
I also got through the PROMETHEUS storyline, which was also excellent!
Morrison's run on JLA almost done, and I THINK it's Waid after that for a few issues of Vol. 3.
Oh, and the JLA Secret Files #2 which was by Christopher Priest and Yanick Paquette was REALLY great as well!

Prometheus was a great new villain.
I dunno how whatever collections you're getting divide it up, but Morrison's JLA ran up to the end of his WWIII arc, #41 of the floppies and the sixth trade. After that, yeah, Wade takes over, straight into another classic story (Tower of Babel) and a couple more good ones in his though iirc it wasn't as consistent (I haven't re-read Waid's for years. I only got his ones on loan from the library).
And if you can, also read DC One Million, a standalone crossover event but essentially a part of Morrision's JLA run.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Cool. Yeah, the newest JLA collections seem to arbitrarily skip sections of the run. Volume 1 has WW in it, but in Volume 2 (during RoA) she's dead, and then during PROMETHEUS it's Hippolyta and not Diana as WW...so I'm not sure what the jump from Morrison to Waid will be like.

Nah, that happened in the original run too. Just an artefact of things happening in the WW series that don't get too explained in JLA I guess. Same story with Superman being electric blue for a bit for no good reason, though that at least is remarked upon.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Fuck me. I just read Waid's first story in the JLA volume (3), the one about Adam Strange and Rann....and it was amazing! It's funny, a few of my all time fave comic stories ever (SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT) are written by a guy (Mark Waid) who I kind of think is a dick in real life. LOL He can be a jerk, but he sure can write!
Also, I've been told this is blasphemy, but I like Arnie Jorgensen's art over Howard Porter's. Porter is good most pages, but on some pages he almost seems drunk.
