Is this season 3.5 you're talking about? Did I just miss the start, or is it not starting in the UK just yet?
These are the episodes that have been broadcast in the US since Christmas - the BBC hasn't got its act together and started to show them yet (probably appalled by how bad the first half of the season was)

Sylar is the only one living up to the standard of first season. Period. Claire is okay.
I am pissed that they did what they did with Peter. He should be pwning people, not running around like a little girl. I hate how they try to do the first season again and failing terribly. Mohinder - lame. Parkman - lame. Hiro - lame lame lame. Ando - meh. Angela - wtf?
They made a horrible mistake mixing up the abilities and serving them around like a bottle of beer - one giant MEH!

I didn't think this week's episode was too bad - sure there were a few problems, but in general I was entertained. They at least seem to have some kind of thematic goal now, which I felt was missing from Seasons 2 and 3.0.
Obviously, Sylar was the high point - I'm looking forward to seeing how the apprenticeship plotline works out, and hoping they do a better job than that unnecessary romance subplot with Elle. I also like what they've been doing with Nathan's character (sure is a vast improvement over the Mr. Flip-flop he has been up to this point) and the friction and problems his ties to the rest of the Heroes brings up. Peter and Claire tie into that - while in themselves they aren't exactly covering new ground (Let's protect the cheerleader! Let's have the brothers disagree!), the way they combine now makes the conflict within Nathan all the more interesting to watch.
The Mohinder/Hiro/Parkman plotline was the one blight on things, I thought - Mohinder still has a bit of a problem with his line delivery that annoys me, Hiro's continued insistence on remaining the naive Superhero Idealist is grating and Matt getting the future-drawing ability seems weak. Daphne's death really didn't work as a set-piece either, but what it did do was give Parkman a reason to get angry that will hopefully make for some fun stuff further down the line.
So overall I'm still positive on the post-Christmas stuff. I have decided to brush the last season and a half under the carpet and pretend it didn't exist, and having done that I can actually accept the characters' motivations for once, which is nice and allows me to enjoy it a lot more. Nothing world-beating, but reasonable entertainment.

A couple of masterfully horrible lines of dialogue from the most recent episode:
Sylar: "I remember thinking they looked like...like snake fingers."
Snake Fingers?! What the hell are they supposed to be? And I could not help but laugh at the sheer ineptitude of that line I've spoilered out in case anyone hasn't seen the latest ep yet. Awesomely, awesomely bad.
Overall I thought this episode was far weaker than the two previous...mainly because the Hiro/Ando plotline was absolutely atrocious and completely unnecessary. Nathan's plotline was alright, although rather predictable. I like the tension they're managing to create in that office though, it just about works (hilarious dialogue mishaps aside). Sylar and sidekick was OK, mainly for the music choices, but Luke is starting to grate a little. (All will be forgiven if Daddy Sylar says the line "Luke, I am your father!" at some point though
) Sylar wasn't quite up to his usual humourous standards, unfortunately. Finally, the Bennett family was probably the best of the bunch, what with all the familial tension and all...I'm just praying that Aquaman doesn't turn into Flyboy Mk. II.

He was sucked into a jet engine somewhere over Manhattan.
I'm one ep short of up to date... Honestly, Sylar is carrying this show. The rest of it is SO all over the map inconsistent. There are great moments like the escape scene in the plane, and then there are crap moments, generally involving Hiro and Ando (altho i give slight props to the Ando-cycle as a babe magnet).
Claire and Noah remain watchable.
Evil Nate is lame. We've seen it maybe three times already. Peter as the bold liberator is fine and the new variation in his powers is almost fun - it makes the writers work a little. Matt... eh. Mo'... eh. Hiro should be fed into a woodchipper so we can see what Ando can do without him. Please. That Indian wedding plotline was so bad even the implied lesbianism couldn't save it. It could only have been worse if a song-and-dance number had broken out... wait, i take that back, it would have been an improvement.

I am starting to think that Peter has become the Wesley Crusher of Heroes. He's the adorable little Mary Sue of the writers. Except unlike Wesley he still can't find his sphincter with both hands and a flashlight.

'Snake fingers', wtf? Very funny, especially that line about the bloodstain.
Hiro should have powers and be doing something interesting, or just not be there at all. Even stopping time for short intervals would make him at least bearable to watch. And why does he constantly flip between his 'wise' personality on a mission to that of a 10yr old? Actually, the woodchipper idea sounds better..

Thought so too...until he last episode would the kid really help mister "do as I say" ?
Rebell could be Angela who is clearly involved but I guess on someone new or near forgotten...
/Chance...who'd give alot to see something big and deadly fall on Ando&Hiro...

just saw the most recent episode and i just realised what a waste this show is. I mean they could have done SO much with this idea and instead we just get the same mish mash, watered down plot recycled over and again that can't decide whether it's a spy show, political drama or comedy romance.
Here's hoping they pull things together

Cheers for spoilering that 'byss.... we're a few episodes behind here, so it helps to have a few spoilers. I should just have guessed that Daphne wasn't dead really; why can't people just STAY dead? We've already seen her 'killed' once, but that obviously wasn't enough.
(I still can't quite believe that they killed off Nikki; and then brought her back next season AS HER OWN CLONE...
Worst... excuse... ever.)

I'm losing the love.
I like the recent Sylar developments but then, we've seen neat Sylar developments in the past and they inevitably go astray (Sylar loses powers - cool! hooks up with the mexican siblings - lame; Sylar becomes a sorta good guy - cool! wait... he's a Petrelli? oh, no he isn't... lame; ).
Danko's become a near stereotype evil villain. Nathan's latest crisis-of-conscience is so more of the same it's pathetic. Matt's keeps having brief moments of awesome followed by large gobs of lame. Peter spends a lot of time standing around looking grim. And i really just want Hiro to be thown under a tank.
- Abyss, so glad Fringe is back today...

They've managed to get some of the humour back in the Hiro and Ando plotlines, which improves things somewhat (though what the point of that interlude where they hitched a ride with that lorry driver for 100m or so I don't know). I thought this episode was better than previous ones, although it all fell apart in the last 10 minutes with some trademark stupidity and horrible dialogue. DIG!
. The HRG vs. Sylar the Shapeshifter plotline was good, but I think it would have been much more poignant if the man he'd shot was not in fact Sylar - see the lengths of insanity Sylar has driven Noah to! While Parkman's initial strategy was a good one (induce him to go to the home of a loved one, threaten etc.), they pulled that woman out of nowhere, which made the whole thing completely devoid of weight. All they had to do was put in a scene or two with her beforehand - they've had plenty of Danko sitting alone in his apartment, why not show him with his fake girlfriend instead? I was so hoping that Matt would pull the trigger, because that would have been a genuinely interesting development. As it was, it was far too predictable.

I haven't watched the show for a bit (no choice but to stop), and from reading the last few weeks of comments I see I made the right choice.
Didn't Sylar kill her at the start of the second series, after she nursed him back to health from his stab wound? He didn't even have his power at the time, so her's went to waste.
I'm curious though, what's the latest with new improved evil body-snatching Dr Mohinder? Nobody really talks about his storyline except to say they hate him.

I think he means the black girl who could learn to do stuff by copying people on the TV. Personally I'd prefer it if they never bring up anything from Season 2 ever again - it was a horrible, horrible season which has essentially been glossed over and forgotten (nothing introduced in that season remains, and for good reason).
Evil Body-Snatching Dr. Mohinder eventually got forced to work for Arthur Petrelli on completing the synthesis of the serum that would give people abilities, with the incentive of also looking into a way of taking powers away. He eventually managed to get rid of his goo stuff, skin shedding and desire to feed on humans, leaving him with just the super strength, and is now just a thoroughly boring character again

I certainly hate this shapeshifter thing more than I would hate Sylar. At first it seemed cool but after last night I think it is just an excuse for lazy writing. Oh wait, everything is an excuse for lazy writing. And if they are going to kill any more characters, please please please let it be Mohinder.
Heroes has actually made me anxious for the return of Fringe. That's just sick and wrong.

yeah - there was a shapeshifter who worked for Lindeman and co but Sylar ate her at the beginning of S2. Copycat was Micah's cousin who copied physical skills. curiously after watching everything Bruce Lee ever did she was still instantly captured by some lame gangstas. neat idea, weak execution. again.
I was enjoying 'bodysnatcher mad scientist Mo' way more than 'super-strong' Mo. But they went and cured him.
The sheer number of misfires, pointless plots and utterly bad ideas on this show is painful. I want to like it - i really, really do, but they just keep disappointing me. In season 2 i was actually fast forwarding every scene involving Hiro that didn't involve him hitting someone with a sword.
Genre tv is always dicey but this is just plain weak. At some point, the thin shred of fun is going to break.
Amazingly, it's one of it's network's strongest shows (not saying much but there it is), so it will probably limp thru to another season.
- Abyss, alas.
