Sylar's, or should I say Gabriel's, story is definitely the only interesting thing with this season so far. Although I admit to liking the scene where Peter pwned those guys without his abilities. But seriously, why haven't he showed that quality before - it annoys me. :D I'm almost starting to think this losing his abilities thing is good for the Peter character. But I still want him to get his abilities back.

Claire story - yawn.
Mrs. Petrelli story - yawn.

Gotta like the Mafia like cult setup though - two teams going at each other with the loyalties not being very clear. :D

gaining abilities must lower his intelligence, its like each one he attains the dumber he becomes... pretty much liek smallville then.

Most likely it was just because he'd never needed to before...

I agree with this totally. I figure the ratonale as he didn't have to use his brain until he lost his powers. Best scene in that ep.

They're going for a Justice League v Legion of Doom thing and i like it.

Well, yeah, for instance the evil daddy Petrelli is really cliché. He's like a super powered Lex Luthor. Yawn.

No no no. That's the POINT!

I must say, I'm quite dissapointed with one thing... they kept Angela's power secret for so long, and now they are showing it, it's some weird, losely-defined brainyness... very odd. So she can see the future, and also project visions into other people's minds? Very strange combo, does this mean that she's also Isaac and Matt's mother too? :D

Probably. :D

But has she actually projected on anyone who wasn't already using their mind power mojo on her? I think it's just precognition and because of her history she just understands how others' powers work.

- Abyss, ...now wants Hiro to remain in his ten-year-old state, and be sent back to kindergarten... and never be seen again, ffs...

I've got to say I'm starting to find this series a bit frustrating to watch, everytime it looks like it's about to get interesting they come up with something else to slow it down:

Peter finally starts to really use powers: loses powers like a dick

Sylar gets interesting: starts to behave like a giant fanny

Seems like Hiro will start using powers effectively: turns into a 10 year old

It's pissing me off.

I never thought I was going to say this, but this latest episode was totally awesome!
First I was pissed off at the whole stupidness, like you Cougar, but I totally loved the whole chaos when everybody suddenly loses their powers. I am hoping the eclipse will just reset everybody's powers, like a reboot.

Now I am just waiting for the writers to completely screw everything up with some lame resolution.

I liked the cancelled powers twist, and the way it bolloxed pretty much everyone - for some reason, Pete and Nate taking a nosedive cracked me up.

The question is what happens when the eclipse passes - does everyone go back the way they were or get rebooted (ie: does Peter get his powers back, Elle go back into overload, Sylar still have the powers he's stolen, Mo' turn back into The Fly, etc etc).

I liked the Daphne twist - it explained a lot and actually made the character a bit more interesting. The Elle/Sylar thing... i dunno... i buy his erratic personality but her weirdness seems totally random.

Hiro is pissing me off and Seth Green guest-appearance in his plotline notwithstanding, i hope he dies. Repeatedly. Any love i had for this character is lost. I'm about one 'Yatta!' away from fastfwd'ing his segments.

- Abyss, ...as a complete aside, hopes the show hangs around long enough for them to do a power-switching storyline...

What I want is for all the characters to end up with different abilities. That would be fun. But I don't think the writers would go with that (especially not after the revealing Daphne's condition - giving her a different power just wouldn't really work. Although they could give her Hiro's...)

EDIT: Oh wait, Abyss already said that.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

And Sylar standing there, moving his fingers, and nothing happening... very funny.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Yup, the only truly effective character while the eclipse is going is Noah :D

What I'm rather confused by is Arthur's panic about it possibly being permenant. I mean, it's hardly the first eclipse he'll have gone through since having powers - so he must know what happens.

It would be quite amusing if it's just a massive reset button, but I hardly think that's likely. They'll all get their powers back again once the eclipse finishes, the only interesting question is wether or not Peter will get his back again because of it. Would seem a bit of a cop-out if that was the case though.

I don't know... with the formula/catalyst thing going on, the powers seem to be genetic - so how an eclipse would affect them is anybodys guess. If Peter gets his back, Sylar should lose all but one on his.

Also, Matt turning his head sideways at Daphne's dad.

I fugure it goes down like this: Pete holds off Samedi's goons while Nate and the Haitian make a break for it. Just as the goons and Samedi have Pete nailed, the eclipse ends, Pete copies Samedi's power and survives and there is much rejoicing. remember, you read it here first.

True, but post his last lobotomy after Hiro kebabed him, when Sylar regained his powers via Mo's serum he had the telekinetics immediately.

Probably. The show is hardly subtle about pulling ideas from comics.

- Abyss, doesn't mind that.

I don't mind that either, master.

They also seem to draw parallels from other pop culture, like Star trek - and lately there's been references to Wizard of Oz. :D

I wouldn't mind at all if the eclipse is like a reset button - original power is all everyone's got. I'd love to see Peter going on a assembling spree. Heroes - the IKEA episode - some assembling required. :p

- Gem, has a soft spot for Peter, to everyone's surprise...

I recall somebody (Nathan?) saying that powers derive from three sources and Papa Petrelli believes that the eclipse is one of them.

Clearly Father Light and his Hounds of Light give them their powers. Duh. :D During the eclips they're too busy blacking out the sun to send them their fresh dose of ethereal powerjuice! I can't believe none of you have figured that out.

Quick question which is probably completely obvious but i've missed:

Who is drawing these latest set of comics that Hiro is now reading?

I assumed Isaac finished them before Sylar finished him.

- Abyss, sort of disappointed Sylar officially doesn't eat brainzzzzz...

Dunno, seems like a bit of a cop out. I seem to remember when simone was selling the paintings that they were the latest ones. Then again there is nothing saying he paints in chronological order I guess.. just seems a bit weak and convenient.

If the eclipse is stopping their powers because the source of their powers is behind the moon how come the same doesn't happen at night?

If everyones powers were reset, then Saylar and Pete would have the same ones' since they rely on memory and understanding, Papa P would befucked though since he draws his by some kind of osmosis or something I reckon

Yeah this really confused me. Very odd, since Isaac sent in the "latest comic" just before he got Slyarfied back in series one, so he wouldn't have done stuff out of order. Has to be someone else.
