It being July 1st, this seems appropriate. From the midget satanic Elvis.

It's now festival season, and while it may be 2 weeks late, I thought I'd post a Glastonbury related observation (I have my sky+ to blame for being at least 2 weeks behind on all tv shows.)
While I can't stand Bono I thought U2 were tight as fuck. The edge is practically a robot, playing seamlessly and managing to sound clean and "unfuzzy" throughout.
I enjoyed Coldplay too, though I have had the pleasure of seeing them live twice so, I knew what to expect there.
For me, the absolute stars of the show were Kool and the Gang. They just played out their skins.
When 'Jungle Boogie' came on, I got a little shiver of excitement!!!
I'm really liking Noah and the Whale at the moment too. Seen some acoustic performances by them, top band.
Seen some of the iTunes festival before I came to work, watched Linkin park cover "rolling in the deep"
A strange choice to be sure, but Chester done it justice.
Anyone care to comment?

@solidsnape re: Glasto, I have never been interested in it, and none of the bands make me want to fork out all my hard earned cash. I am disappointed to have missed Sonisphere this year though, what with the Big Four playing on one stage, and Bill Bailey playing too! I also understand Sylosis and TesseracT were there...

Still loving listening to SAID THE WHALE cos of their nice harmonies.
Heard them open a live set with this track which unfortunately isn't on either of their albums. I like how they've managed to join two quite different tunes together into a single track that works.
Canadian indie music is quite healthy these days. Hopefully I'll find that the Irish indie scene is as good when i get home and can go to gigs again.

I really like that song Blinder! Especially the tempo change around the middle! Going to have to check out more of them at work tomorrow.
I came across the following song a few weeks ago and I still can't get enough of it. Hope you enjoy!

I realise that Glastonbury may be a bit too mainstream for a lot of the musical purists/elitists kicking around on this forum, but I love music full stop!
It could be a Django Rhinehart tribute act in some dingy Dutch Jazz club (actually happened), a folk night at the local pub, a local gig with some new talent showcasing their stuff, or, failing all that, even an open air public pop/rock festival thats on tv so i dont have to brave the Typhoid/Cholera saturated porter loos!!! It all gets the feet tapping for me.
