Opeth - A Fair Judgement
I don't care what people say about Deliverance, this song rocks.

Everyone knows that the only superior song on that otherwise mediocre album is Deliverance.

I only have one PT album and that is In Absentia. I'd say it's progressive rock. I'd say there pretty good and I'm a Tool fan.

figured I'd give something else a try, mainly out of boredom right now. Before that though: http://www.metal-torrents.com/tracker/
And now:
Insomnium - Since the Day it All Came Down ...mediocre. I know I listened to it because it's queued in winamp. Thats about all I can remember.
Darkane - Layer of Lies... Better than mediocre, pretty good even. Not Suffocation of Cryptopsy, but its a good shot at some nice DM.
The Duskfall - Lifetime Supply of Guilt ... Not bad. Dark Tranquility, Hypocrisy, or At the Gates. But it was well worth buyi... ok I whored it from MT. Sue me. (**** you RIAA) Fun stuff though. Definitely grab this if you feel the urge.
Ministry - Psalm 69 ... Come on.
Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies ... They dropped from the Suffocation/Cryptopsy tour. I am not happy. This is some fine shizat. Fine like a gorgeous vietnamese girl using her teeth to show her "displeasure" at you taking pictures of her. Just the right amount of sting to add some spice, without taking away from the fact that she's licking your ear < http://ruthlessrevie...onny/cosmo.html > (no renaming links to have words=ghey) Someone show me howwwwwwwwwww... The cd? fanphucintastic. Buy it. And download it. And buy another copy for your best friend.
Enforsaken - The Forever Endeavor ... just when I thought Americans couldnt do melo-death. Maybe I was tired, but even though the songs were all similar, they still sound original. Good stuff. For melo-death.
Necrophagist - Onset of Putrefacation ... Dhamn. I mastyrbate twice a day at least, and Muhammed's guitars still blow me way the hell away. Buy this. And Epitaph. Buy three even, this is just that good. (for those of you lame enough not to know that already)
Chimaira - Pass out of Existence ... They will always have a sweet spot in my heart. And still do. And odd downturn to the day, but I like it. Metalcore, so its hardly trve enough for our pet nazi.
all of these are being the "s-word" that relates to bit torrents by a two megabit connection in a (the) major telecom hub. Not that I advocate piracy in the slightest. I prefer to think of it more like a testdrive. You don't pay for those either, do you?

@Whoever asked: Porcupine Tree are in no way like Tool. Mainly because Tool is rubbish and PT are not.
Ok, fine, further explanation. PT are less metal and less trying-to-be-hardcore-prog-but-just-ending-up-pretensious (Fibonacci numbers in the drumbeats in Lateralus, anybody? Give me a break). PT are more melodic and laid back. They tend not to have buried hidden meanings in songs. Steven Wilson of PT sounds nothing like Maynard (not that anybody does).
I'd probably categorise PT as progressive rock. Definitely not similar to Tool though.
I can't tell you any more because my knowledge of Tool is, happily, quite limited.
@ 'Duk: Oh, piss off and go and listen to A Fair Judgement and For Absent Friends. And take that ridiculous BM dude from (I think) Immortal off your avatar right now. It makes me laugh too hard.

Every avatar makes you laugh Asheroth, right? But if you only knew why he has that as his avatar.
Wilson Philips - Hold On
Yeah I can't believe I am listening to it either. No wait, I can. Eat me. =P
PS - Yeah I rock. How many pages and not deleted for taking up too much space/bandwidth/whatever? The Idi's dare not delete it. --->

Keep the Immortal avatar it suits you.
You like Chimaira, wouldn't have thought that. Have you heard their new album yet?

Yeah. Tool is no more pretentious than Dream Theatre, Opeth, Cryptopsy, Mayhem (if absurdly talented drumming is pretentious, you cant not include the two greatest) or Artension. They just arent as good as any of those bands. Musically. Black metal is funny/retarded, no matter how good it is.
But Tool rapes Porcupine Tree with the glass studded femur of a screaming christian fetus with their hands tied to their asses.
