Mercy - by Shy FX and T Power
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

Explosions In The Sky - Yasmin The Light

Why haven't I got into this band before? Last year I lived with a guy who raved about them all the time. I ignored him. Now that I actually listen, they're AWESOME...

Now generally, I would say if you like a band, they are worth listening to. Is this the case here? :)

Hell yes. But be aware it ain't metal of any description. It is entirely instrumental, highly melodic post-rock with a kind of musical innocence that I find strangely appealing. Go to their myspace page to see if you like.

Vivaldi - Winter

Will check em, for reals, Zale. :D

And thanks to Grubb who recommended Turisas to me. I have been listening to their album "Battle Metal" all day and I freaking love them! Kind of Finntroll meets power metal. It's great fun!

Turisas - Rex Regi Rebellis

I also got the album "Undeceived" by Norwegian Death Metal band, Extol, and the album "Leviathan" by Mastodon (who are fast becoming a favourite of mine...) though I haven't yet heard it. :)

Hunted by a freak - Mogwai
Ratts of the Capital - Mogwai

A band i'd like to see live. Mostly instrumental rock (they did include vocals on a couple of tracks on their 4th album i think?).
