I watched it with one of my professors a few months back. He almost fell off his chair laughing. He is on of several professors I know that would call Life of Brian the most accurate depiction of ancient history

Actually, no. They're all well educated and all!
Anyway, I think they say it because they don't like all the movies trying to be accurate, and then the message gets lost in historical details trying to impress the academics watching...
