I've been listening to a fucking ton of dempa music recently. Mostly stuff like Moso Calibration and Dempagumi Inc. There's also the Neptunia OST; say what you will of the games, but the soundtracks are excellent.

Yes! I finally found it! So I discovered "King of the Road" on Viceland and really like the song being played during the opening credits each episode. This is it! Turn it up!

One of the best.

Yah I have Mayonaise in heavy rotation lately actually. Spotify playlists on shuffle are a good alternative to the radio.

I like the heavy version of Disarm, & wish they had recorded a studio version.

Which reminds me of another song I wish the band had recorded the electric version of:

The original is pretty, but this version is more of a gut punch.

Oh that one's from 2010, so not any kind of nostalgia tie-in.

Yah I liked SP pretty much all the way up through Adore. And yah Baron Munchausen and Tonight Tonight vid both have references to A Trip to the Moon.

So that new Han Solo Star Wars movie is really doubling down on the funky, groovy 70s style Lando Calrissian.Posted Image

JK. Seriously though, I like it. Also, is it true Donald Glover is dropping the "Childish Gambino" alias he performs as when making music? I wonder why?

Those smashing pumpkins videos had me reminiscing about the 90's. Had a cool cd which had a random selection of american bands, mostly grunge with some more general alternative rock acts too. Always a big fan of this tune on it. Sadly Buffalo Tom didn't make the big breakthrough on this side of the atlantic.

They never had a huge hit in the U.S. either actually. Just one of those bands with a steady college radio presence that never quite went fully mainstream, though they got on a few popular soundtracks and are no doubt Boston alt rock scene royalty.

90? Here's some you guys were probably unaware of. Enjoy. Or not, because some of this will probably not be your cup of tea.

You do realize that picture has been photoshopped, right?

I dunno, maybe she wanted cred with music snobs? I legit thought it was photoshopped but searched and found links of her with it. I didn't even know she did music tbh. It's more obscure then Smashing Pumpkins, who were way overplayed in the 90s and Billy Corgan is a pompous ass.

Rocket From the Crypt played one of the MTV Spring Break weeks back in the day. But MTV at one time used to play some more alternative music, when it was worth watching.

Any way, this guy.

Loved Tindersticks back in the early 90's. For such a morose sounding band at times, they put on one of the most high energy gigs i have ever attended. Probably down to the brass section. It was nuts.
There was a great indie music programme on Irish Tv around that time called NO DISCO, which meant you got to see some really obscure bands that we would otherwise never have heard of. many an act/artist got their breakthrough in Ireland because of that show. Plus they did some great live recordings.
Here's an act that many of you might have heard of, THE FRAMES, recorded live on that show, when they were on the brink of quiting due to some record label shite.

They'd even go out an make their own nonsense music videos for songs they liked just to be able to play them on the show. I always used to loe the video they made for this song by THE DIVINE COMEDY, as it was a bunch of clips recorded in my home city, so it works with the nostalgic feel of the song. Wish i could find that version.
