It's been about a week since I started listening to the Hamilton Original Cast Recording, and I can't be bothered to listen to anything else. It's that good. No, seriously. And it's still only $0.99 on Google Play (for however long that lasts.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Here's another one to get your teeth into. I would be very interested in finding out what you think of them. I really dig this band, and the whole album is pretty unique. Let me know!

I've listened to two jazz albums almost obsessively the last few weeks. Bridges by Helge Lien Trio & Adam Baldych, and Midwest by Mathis Eick.
It's hard to describe, but it is wonderfull.

That Bent Knee band is quite interesting
I've been a Mastodon kick lately
and some Bluegrass, oddly enough, in the mornings

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Local band I've been listening to a lot. They've got a nice Blues-based/Stoner tone going on.
“The others followed, and found themselves in a small, stuffy basement, which would have been damp, smelly, close, and dark, were it not, in fact, well-lit, which prevented it from being dark.”

Both work well as an introduction to Norwegian jazz I think. It's music for stormy winter nights on the coast.

New Killswitch Engage drops today. Has the same name as my book so obviously I'm getting it.
April is pretty hectic for me musicwise - Entheos, Babymetal and Perfume release in the first week, and then we have new Fallujah on the 29th (hnnnng new Fallujah). I'm seeing Crossfaith on the 29th of this month as well so that should be a fun one.

Today's earworm (and cool fucked up video of an office cleaner dancing with a vacuum cleaner). I fully feel like this track could have been made in the mid-90's and I love that nostalgic, old school EDM vibe.

Looked for Mathis Eick on Spotify and while he is there, the album Midwest isn't. So I'm listening to I Concentrate On You instead.

Phife Dawg passed away. One of the best to ever do it.
This started off a terrible year for music legends, and it's only getting worse.

Yes. I think you'd have enjoyed the look on the HMV staff's faces when I bought it, too.
"Oh, well we had one in on a customer order..."
"Here is my receipt."
"Uhm. It's for... you?"
"Yes."
"Oh, OK. Is it for-"
"Yes, it is for me."
And I'm there looking like Johan Hegg, scowling at everything, with my Black Dahlia Murder hoodie on. and otherwise generally being a grumpy Viking when the work's dried up.
