Yeah, their latest album was quite a let-down, actually. But the 2001 album had some reallly cool tracks. Some bad ones too, though.
ETA: Hey, I just found out why. It's just the producer that's the same, he then replaces the rest of the crew with each record - like an ongoing project, and not a band. Explains the big differences between the records...

I thought Blind Guardian was cool when I was like 15. Then again, I only heard Nightfall in Middle Earth album... Yep, Silmarillion inspired metal.
