I haven't seen any of the show yet (going to finish reading the book first), but that was pretty cool. Nice tune.

This is my study music at the moment.

Rainbow - Stargazer
I get a shiver down my spine ever time I hear this song. One of the late DIO's finest..

When a man lies he murders
Some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which
Men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear
To witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation
Take me home

Pretty simple song, but I like it. (Couldn't find a youtube video)

Edit: Looks bare without a video so I'll do another song as well.

Just finished season 4 of Friday Night Lights, and this song in the penultimate episode montage really stood out. Very pretty:

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Great track. Definitely reminds me of a relaxing night drive into the city with friends or something.

Not exactly sure what put this song in my mind after so many years, but I love the simple string arrangement. And from hearing this track you might find it hard to believe, but these guys put on one of the most electrifying live performances I've ever seen. The energy from a brass section, and strings in a small venue was amazing.

I'm really digging the music of Le Trio Joubran recently...anyone who's interested in oriental music should check them out, they're pretty good.

I felt 1890s. Verdi's Requiem, the Hostias section. Just ravishing.

And the Ingemisco. This tenor has a fantastic tone in his upper registers!

Just came across this track while browsing through some old NPR podcasts. Odd video, nice tune. I like her vocal delivery on this, not quite rap, more like a spoken word artist breaking into song. I think she may also have been a jazz singer before.Listened to the whole album, but unfortunately there are only about 3 or 4 tracks as good as this.

Anyway, this is DESSA - Dixon's Girl
