Some may disagree, but IMO Nine Inch Nails, for all their grit, explosive power and heavy sound and imagery, have some of the most sensual, organic and vibrant love songs in the history of ever. Or I just interpret them as such.

How is Raphael Saadiq so damn funky? Stone Rollin' is a masterpiece.
I will probably be playing this album at a party and sneaking off to have sex because of this album in 30 years. It's like a classic Stevie Wonder album, but modern and definitively Raphael himself. So good.

I like Couer de Pirate's french language stuff. She's being doing an english language collaboration (Armistice) with a guy from Bedouin Soundclash, but it wasn't quite the same. Really reminded me of Calexico but not as good.
Was listening to some country tinged tunes earlier and this track immediately made me think of a certain character from Reapers Gale.
Songs:Ohia - The Body Burned Away.
Nice song, fantastic intro, but like so many of Jason Molina's songs (Songs:Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co.), it just falls short of being truly amazing. He can be an amazing lyricist, and an awesome musician, but unfortunately he rarely seems to marry the 2 in the same song. His work under the Songs:Ohia moniker was probably the most interesting.

Saw these guys at Evolve back in July, such an amazing outdoor show. It was doubly impressive considering how blazed the bunch of them were.

Funny thing is I played this album during reading of Abercrombieīs Heroes and now I realized, clip it with A LOT of Northmen... and shield wall etc. But more important is that Arkona is one of best pagan metal bands, still enough of folk and melody, not just screaming with pulses of "something like melody"

And my personal love, Mekhter - Ottoman armyīs band. This piece is Hucum Marsi, attacking march, so tempo of playing was increasing as soldiers began to charge. Its fucking awesome (and yeah, Im probably freak, but...
). And fun fact, many of baroque and later composers were hugely influenced by Ottoman army music (but this fact is from my friend who is pro musician of callisc...so he is the smart guy here)
