Withal

2 quick questions:
At the end of the book, when Werthal boards the ships with Bottle, was he the one Bottle was sent to procure?
and
When he boards, Fiddler recognizes the burns and weals on his arms. I assume those were from being a smith. Does Fiddler recognize Werthal's burns as being WERTHAL'S or as the burns of a smith? And if the latter, how?

It's Withal. (unless it's different in translation, I've noticed that with some foreign posters?)
Not sure about this one.
I think you meant to say "former" there, as I don't see any mystery in Fiddler recognising the scarring of a smith. And I think it was the latter anyway, Fiddler may have powers of divination but I don't think they extend to knowing the identities of strangers.

No, I meant latter. SE obviously wrote that line for a reason, so what is the significance of Fiddler recognizing the burns of a smith?

Fiddler needs smithwork? It will all become clear in about 2 books.... because thats how SE works. There will be a second line, that clears it up perfectly. However, you will practically have to know both books by heart to put it together. Yay!
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

Well, perhaps Fiddler has had a premontion/vision/whatever about a sword, and now he sees a swordsmith. Can't remember if there are any sword references in his readings of the top of my head, but I don't think there is any great mystery here.
I really thought it was more along the lines of
"look at his arms, must be a smith"
not
"look at his arms, must be the smith I've been waiting for."

Well, I don?t know if this means anything, but it could very well be that fiddler has met kalam?s relative, the smith?

More likely any other smith in the world... There is a slim possibility, but if Fid med the other Mekhar (Barathol?), then it was when he was a military commander, not a smith...

i just thought it was to acknowledge that Withal got on the ship without him actually coming up and saying hi im withal the swordmaker

I thought the same as tiam - it was SE's way of saying 'Here's Withal' without actually saying 'Here's Withal'.
In regards to Bottle being sent to procure someone, i'm still confused on that one. Obviously,Withal would be a likely possibility but then for all we know it could be his wife or one of those nest building/destroying creatures (mental block on their names). Like Obdigore said - we'll probably know in two or more books time.

I think its Withal they were sent to get on whole Rhulads sword issue but maybe on Another note they needed Cartheron Crust. I mean did he go with them? I fairly sure he did so maybe they will round up the old Guard

Yeah, but what's Urko Crust up to? It seemed like he was about to do something, and then nothing happened. He's one of the only characters still on Seven Cities.

Withal was the one that Bottle was sent to get. Cartheron Crust left with the payment and the Wickans. Withal was a well known swordsmith on one of the Meckros floating islands so maybe Fiddler met him as a Bridgeburner at some former point prior to the books?

It's nothing to do with whether Fiddler had met him before or not... it's like tiam said, just a way to let us know who it was without saying "IT'S WITHAL!"
