Aye.. *sigh*, the happy carefree days
Take good care to keep relations civil
It's decent in the first of gentlemen
To speak friendly, Even to the devil

On occasion I have heard of Malazanempire having a 'bad reputation' when it comes to discussions of other authors, but as someone who's posted regularly on the forum for two years it seemed a bit unfounded (the inane giggling over the news of Robert Jordan's impending death notwithstanding).

Now much is explained :)

Oh, the George Bush thing was funny. Ripping the piss out of his fans, calling them 'insane' and calling him a 'fat bastard' is very definitely not.

And the fact that Mith - who normally is leading the charge of criticism of GRRM about how long he takes between books - leapt to his defence is quite interesting.

So what did Mith to do to get banned? I've seen him walk the line before but not go over it. Or is that something-not-to-be-discussed?

Mith was banned?

Dunno the story behind that one, I'm afraid.

His name was crossed out on the last page like it is for people who are banned (or presumably delete their account or something).

On topic: Please leave Martin alone or he'll never finish ASoIaF... well, okay seems like he deserves some for making us wait so long...

A Feast for Crows has been out for nearly two years. It took five years to be released. At which point GRRM said A Dance with Dragons was halfway, or at least partially, finished. You can easily surmise why so many readers are chomping at the bit for the next installment.

I bought Feast of crows almost exactly 2 years ago (at the end of winter exams). I read it in about 2 days (or was it 1?). In the back, it had a smal note by Martin where e said that "Dance of Dragons will (hopefully!!!) be out next year.....
Right now majority of fans are praying for summer 2008....

The series was good enough for me to read through the first three, then I waited two years for crows and just couldn't get into it.

The series is great. It was especially the politics and GRRM taking some comepletely ruthless turns that made me like it. Lets just say the "good guys", if there are such people in the series, don't have it easy.

Its big, fat, slow books though.

I think the wait for A Feast for Crows really killed my enjoyment of the book. I hadn't re-read, so had forgotten much of what had been going on in the previous books. Took me quite a few months after i bought it to actually get into the book enough to finish it. Other than that it's an excellent series though, i'm sure you'll enjoy it :)

Excellent. Is the 5th book supposed to be the last?
