hehe, I just made an account to post this exact theory. Glad I'm not the only one who thought this.

I thought this was because several times through the battle between Kalam and the Claw, there was mention about how he was some how, more special than they were. Kalam even said "they just move slower to me". It just came across as he was peculiar.

The whole Temper reference I thought was because it was what spooked ST has he dropping Kalam into the Azath. A nearly dead Kalam at that.

Of course, there might be evidence that refutes this that I may have overlooked. Obviously, there is enough difference in looks between the two that Kalam would probably of gotten most of his looks from his mother's side.

But yeah, I jumped to the Kalam conclusion far before anything else.

no. Not at all.
For starters, Kalam FOUGHT against the malazans--back when they invaded 7C he was a personal assassin for one of the holy Falah'd... I'm sure he got his hands dirty with plenty of Malazan/Claw blood prior to being recruited into the Claw.

And why do we have to link Kellanved to anyone but the Empire, anyways? the Emperor does not strike me as very preoccupied with the temporal world and its pleasures...
