Typical, he goes to Belfast the week before I get back here, and then goes to Reading when I'm in Belfast!!

I'll have to convince my sister to go and get me signed copies of everything (this is going to require a hell of a lot of bribe money...)

Heh, he was here in 1998 and 2002, so I got my entire collection signed to that point. Plus his short stories in Legends I and II. Plus his stuff in the David Copperfield "Tales of the Impossible" 2 short story collections. :(

Even got a couple of photos of myself with him both times. A friend and I gave him photos of himself from both visits. Plus a bottle of red Aussie wine each time. He was mightily impressed, so decided not to sic the law on to us for stalking, as we were at all of his Brisbane signings. :)

I hope you guys can get to see him. He's quite a funny guy actually.

Cheers,

@fan 83 why not just go to glasgow it isn't far 40 mins on train and the borders is only five mins from the Queen street. Although agree would have been better here. Also why do we never get the interesting authors coming to edinburgh it is always to Glasgow if they bother with scotland.

I agree we should start a petition to get more authors to come to edinburgh and we should persuade SE to come for a signing that would be great. Balckwells had Neil Gaiman a while back but missed it due to being busy. (Damn life getting in the way).

Whilst I haven't been enamoured of his more recent books, there's no doubting he was one of the better epic fantasy authors of the 1980s and I'd love to get Magician in particular signed by him. Chelmsford is just down the road from me so I might head on down there. Unfortunately, I think this means being forced to buy his new hardback, but there you go. He comes across very well in video interviews I've seen with him.
