Paran, the Errant, and Oponn

The Errant was the Master of the Holds in the time of the First Empire. In time he came to be worshipped He continued to be worshipped in Lether because it was frozen and Houses didn't develop. The Errant is said to pull push and nudge in MT. Oponn is worshipped in the Malazan Empire and presumably elsewhere. Oponn pulls and pushes depending on which is acting. There's speculation that Oponn derives from the Errant due to the similarity of their actions and the Errant's bi-sexuality. The sword Chance comes into Paran's possession some time before GOTM. In GOTM, IIRC Sorry kills Paran but Oponn barter with Hood for his life. Later, Paran becomes Master of the Deck. Ganath says Paran will come to be worshipped like the Errant.
What do you think will happen with Paran?

very cryptic by the way the passage to the question. i believe it hasd to do with the errant was an impartial adjudicator and this seems like parans role also. as for the errants attribute being similar to opppons i used to belivee there would be a conflict in the 2 but now i beleive the errant will fade away like other uneeded gods.

I'd hazard the guess that's the other way round. While the Errant seems to get along quite well Oponn gets kicked everytime they show up. IMO the Errant started in a Paran-like-position but as he started to get worshipped he was 'forced' to godship and thus assumed the aspect of manipulating the game subtly with this nudge-sort-of-things and aqcuired a Oponn-like position. I think this fits to the master of deck attitude somehow. Consequently the questions arise, if
a) Paran will become some Luck-god, if he's worshipped
Oponn was(were?) master of deck once
a) Paran will become some Luck-god, if he's worshipped

I believe that Oponn were just a pair who became the gods of luck. It has nothing to do with them being the Masters of the Deck, and neither does the Errant's current position. His current luck-role suits him, that's all there is too it. I don't doubt that Anomander Rake could become the God of Satin Panties if he so chose, but that wouldn't mean that all Tiste Andii Dragnipur-wielding badasses were aspected to women's underwear.

Its possible that Oponn are the Errants children who left Lether and became new Gods of chance.

I always see the Errant not as luck, but as destiny, fortune.

yeh the errant is the lord of change whereas opponn is the push and pull. may sound similar but there is a difference. The errant seems more to do with future change or destiny as my predecessor claims where as opponn is a more influential or meddling god

A correction: I should have said fate. no idea why I didn't think to at the time.

So once he was replaced by Oponn, he became the God of Spare Change?

yes i see your point. maybe because hes impartial and is sort of the caretaker of the holds in the same way is the caretaker of the new deck and the warrens. maybe paran protects the progress of the warrens and the errant helped the holds progress.
Mind you parans role is quite different as he was master of the deck for a purpose of deciding the CG influence type thing. aybe there not as similar as ganath thinks

The Guardian (of the forgotten gods, who seems knight of Mael) says to Turudal.
-I know you, I know all your names.
-I imagine you do, Guardian.
-Poison, did you... push him in that direction?
-It is my aspect, I am driven to... poignancy. Tell me, does your God (Mael?)know you are here?
Ideas?

Isn't the definion of poignancy something to do with pain?
I was thinking, maybe the Errant is allied with the CG. He was the one who was in letherii from the beginning and you could say he arranged the mishap with getting the days wrong so that the edur could get it on the right day and consequently end up with Rhuald being emperor?
Just thinking crazy things!

It can also mean 'profoundly moving'.
