The earth as a whole will still exist from the core upwards, but the surface life will be remade as the tremors from her awakening will reverberate through the earth until it escapes into some energy source on the surface.

The other thing that occurs to me is that Burn's dream is somehow responsible for keeping the Chained One chained.

Remember the paradox: Brood can wake up Burn to save her, in which case he frees the CG and magic goes away; or he can not use the hammer, and let Burn die of the wound, in which case the world goes away. (Does anyone else think that Brood's "third choice" will be presented by Quick Ben?)

This makes me think that her sleeping is actually what keeps the CG from being free. Don't ask me about the mechanism, since I have no idea.

But as evidence has shown the CG's powers have slowly been seeping through her bind on him since he is now able to infect her and slowly deteriorate her health.

He is still in a bind only now the restraints have been loosened due to his strenuous efforts. He can only affect the world so much and that wont change unless some outside force manages to free him from one or more of his chains, by defeating an Elder god or somesuch.

Either that or someone kills Burn, but his efforts were detected and slowed to a crawl that may kill her in say another thousand millenia or more.
