For sure ST, b/c in the 1st part of tBH he's either involved directly or indirectly in just about every scheme. As an aside though, ST does at one point call QB, the thousand headed interloper, or thousand headed ex-priest, i can't remember exactly but it was the thousand headed something?

Why? The dragons know kilmandaros.

Let's quote myself, or did you put me on your ignore list? :)

No, the chained dragons talk about Kilmandaros and Scabby in the third person. I would guess that if Edgy was one of either they wouldn't talk about him in the third person. I reckon the knowledge of the dragons is vast enough to recognize the essence of Edgy if he really mattered.

That's quite a strong assumption Danyah. What if they can't?

Well, Edgewalker is a rotting human male in appearance, not Edur or female, so that should show that he isn't either of them.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Edgewalker knows their names, and somehow I got the impression that in the olden times, all the major players are aware of each others existence/actions. The two retarded skeletons knew apsalar the godess of thieves for instance. It's like one big fighting family. I'm quite convinced that Kilmandaros isn't Edgy, for the number of reasons mentioned above. I'm sure they would recognize her, even if she would be dead. I can be wrong of course. :)

But he's not human either IMHO.

Not human, though vaguely human in appearance...

And because of your persuasive arguments, I am now convinced Edge isn't Kili...

@ Tiste: I thought it was pretty conclusive that Edgy's an Elder. Edgewalker himself hinted to Cotillion that he's an Elder god....he said something about being one of the "elemental forces" that existed before time began (i.e. in Darkness)...like K'rul and the new named Elder he mentioned.

But how much do we know of Edgy anyway...his aspect might be interestingly multi-digited in some unknown way. Of course, I find the metaphoric reference to ST convincing but not wholly conclusive.

Just because Edgy says so, doesn't make it true.

True - He could just be a very old dead guy... I mean he didn't manage to take over Shadow Realm after all... :)

Aww c'mon Abyss, give the old geezer a break. No need to be so sceptical. He seemed to give the info reluctantly....I just thought it had some contextual veracity to it.

And TS, who says he was out to take over Shadow Realm?...he knows ST's only sitting on a gatehouse to/on a fragment of KE anyway. Like those chained dragons, he seems to want the healing of KE. It's his designs afterwards that are cause for concern...and Cotillion seems to be aware of this.

Edgy promised that he may be able to provide Cotillion etc. with some assistance. This really interests me.

See, I keep locking onto this promise of a MEGA-conflagration in RG and all conspiracies lead nowhere else for me! Now think on this: Cotillion and ST are hard pressed on Drift Avalii because of the poxy Edur designs on the Throne of Shadow. They are also hard-pressed by the poxy Edur re the First Throne. Common problem? The poxy Edur, of course. Where are they? Pox-ridden Letheras....which is where this promised MEGA-bonfire's due to take place! So.....Edgy's future doing?? Will this be the promised 'help'? Shall we see ST, Edgy and Cotillion unleash some healing come-uppance on the Edur-plagued Letheras? Will it be them or will they somehow enlist those 3 Eleint to do it?

March 2007 can't get her fast enough for me!!

I think all this talk about Edgewalker's motivations is NoK info. Apparently he was in that.

Edgewalker says he tried to take it over in NoK... Though I thought he said something about it again in BH...

NoKisms aside, a couple of interesting, TB-only Edgewalker observations...

- He's clearly aware of the three bound dragons, but they never address him directly.

- he sent two dragon ghosts to tail Apsalar (pun intended).

- he claims to be an Elder God in some manner.

- some Elder Gods were draconic, altho all the named 'mixed-bloods' from MT are accounted for, i think.

- He's not Kilimandaros (wrong gender), but Grizzin Farl that we know of is unaccounted for.

Just finished Book One. Awesome... You guys are probably right that the "Thousand Fingered God" is Shadowthrone, but just wanted to toss this nugget in for considerations:

"All, that is, but the temple of the Queen of Dreams, its impressive fortifications making it virtually impregnable. There were in any case mysteries surrounding the Queen, Corabb knew, and it was generally believed that her cult had not originated in the Malazan Empire. The Goddess of Divinations cast a thousand reflections upon a thousand peoples, and no one civilization could claim her as exclusively its own."

This was on page 302 in my Kindle, and its the part when Corabb is describing Y'Ghatan just after they have taken the city.

After reading this (and having no knowledge of later events) it seems likely that SE could be utilizing some foreshadowing and the the Queen of Dreams could play an important role later in the book. Thus, the name of Book One.

Just sayin...

whats the code for hiding spoilers?

Without being able to hide them most of these questions about who is edgewalker, burn and others is at least answered in a general vague sense in tCG.

From just the info in BH I would jump to the conclusions that...

edgewalker is not kilmandaros or burn nor is he an elder god in the general sense
