The Swiss just beat Canada?? How the hell?!

Our boys need to step it up a little bit.
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.

That was a huge surprise.

Btw. The tackle on Jagr by Ruutu was one of the worst assaults I've seen. That sort of behaviour is really shameful and doesn't belong in a Olympic Tournament.

Yep, it was a big surprise :) It is the first time our guys managed to beat the Canadians in a great tournament, which makes it knid of a historical event:eek3:

Anyway, was a great game to watch (guess that depends on the perspective, ey?;)).

And yes, Ruutu does not seem to be a particularly nice guy, that was one brutal check there.

Ya that was pretty disgracefull by rutuu. It just makes a bad name for hockey.
And the loss by canada to switzerland is just a disapointment. it was a horible display of hockey on canada's part and i do congratulate the swiss goaltender, that was pretty damn good, but even with that canada should have dominated, no ofence to the swiss, but a wins a win so congrats to the swiss and ill just have to hope canda doesn't play like that again out side of the round robin.

Yeah well half the original team was injured and they need to break 2 weeks earlier and have short training camp for the Olympic team. I mean if we are serious about sending our best there then we have to give the players some time to become a team. All I see on the ice is about 20 very good but individual canadian hockey players they are not a team.

Well, I guess your dames will run over ours ;).

About Womens hockey btw. I was thinking about that with Ruutu and also when I saw the Italian-Chech match. I'm amazed by how much of the time is spent on actually playing hockey in the womens games, and not pointless fights or checks. The women seems to focus on actually playing.

Maybe they aren't as technical as the guys but I must say that the womens tournament has surprised me positivelly. It's very uneven but once they even out the quality it wont be that far after the mens tournamanet. Must have been more than me who were thinking "womens hockey, pfft" before :).

Heh. My Canadian friend at church was moaning about Switzerland beating them.
I pointed out that it was a constant source of embarrassment that the only gold we won last time was in Curling, the stupidest sport in the world. And it looks like we won't even win that this year.
Which is probably better than winning it, now I think about it.
We suck at winter sports... ;)

Yeah well Bertuzzi started his own bad luck with the worst sucker punch I have ever seen. Now it just follows him around and there is no way Canada will win this time around.

Yes I am from the Vancouver area and though I do feel a bit sorry for Bertuzzi. But he never had to punch Steve Moore and now that he has made his bed and he will have to sleep there for the rest of his career. The sooner the Vancouver Canucks trade him the sooner they can be considered contenders again.

So Sweden's losing rather nicely. Canada's on their way to another gold. ;)

The goal here was to fall with the flag on top. I think we managed that quite nicelly :).

Canada is the super power currently so this is the best that we could do.

2010 however .

Ugh. We have this show on here at the moment called "Celebrity Dancing on Ice" or something. The special trainers for the show are Torville and Dean, our old heroes of ice dancing. It's stupid.

Lo and Behold. We have a similar thing here called "Let's Dance".

Those nasty reality shows spreads faster than Bird Flue. I seriously wonder what causes more pain ;).

Torvil and Dean were the first Ice Dancers to score multiple 6.0s in olympic competition. I didn't know they were from GB.

And there's a Celebrity Dancing on Ice in the states, I had the misfortune of watching 5 seconds of it one day, it was rancid.

GO CANADIAN WOMEN'S TEAM!
