I already have my mind set on Rydia and/or Kain. Final Fantasy 4 was my very original introduction to the entire fantasy genre.

Unfortunately for my children I have decided that when they are born i am going to name them whatever i want and in the case of the boys they each have a Malazan related name within theirs (Coltaine, Toc, Itkovian). They aren't their first names so it shouldn't cause to great a complex for them

Well, there are girls named Dawn, so why not Twilight? I'd be tempted to throw the "Atri-Preda Yan Tovis" part in there, but I think that might be a bit much...

If I have a son, I shall name him Fear. Or maybe Corabb Bhilan Thenu'alas. That sounds cool. And I would just have to name a daughter Hellian. She would love me for that, I reckon. Or Feather Witch.

I think Atri-Preda is a title, like a deputy Preda or something.

Perhaps Sister of Cold Nights would be nice, kinda rolls off the tounge.

the naming had nothing to do with the books,
but i thought i would just mention it...

There are a few names that could easily pass. Envy isn't really so bad, Spite on the other hand... Well thats the feeling she'll be harbouring towards her parents.

-Hellian
-Koryk
-Laseen
-Lostara
-Felisin
-Apsalar
-Scillara(if the implication of the name were'nt so negative, as well as in french it would sound very similar to sc?l?rat which isn't good)
-Minala

These are all viable from my stand point, but then again how can they not after people have named their children the following:
-Moon Unit Zappa
-Dweasel Zappa

and my personal favourite SNS (Stupid Name Syndrome):
-Spatula
Yes some lady named her kid Spatula, or more precisely Spatule (french), but it means spatula in french as well as in english. The kid had one chance, the Qu?bec provincial gov reserves the right to step in on a child's naming process if neccesary. They have only done it once, and this was it. Though they lost since the mother said that Spatule was also the name of a flower, and if you could name your child Rose why not Spatule? I feel nothing but pain for that kid.

I'm a little upset by the complete overlook of the Forkrul Assail!! Calm all the way, although I can't remember the other names, calm is probably the worst of the Forkrul names IMO but still awesome!

Yeah Serenity doesn't sound that bad :)

But Bult is a must, though he'd probably not be the harassed one but the harassing one.

With regard to the GRR Martin names, can we just agree that a boy named Tywin is going to be a lot less conspicuous than a boy named Whiskeyjack?!

I mean, how would you get a job with a name like that. At least GRR Martin's names have an ethnic ring to them. Tywin could explain himself as Welsh and Arya is a Persian name (although for a boy).

I like Apsalar, but really, I'd love to name a daughter Tiam.

I'd name my boy Pearl only if he'd promise to be big and beefy...

Kalam has a nice ring to it too.
