If she's not dead why would Dassem be so angry with Hood?
Hood took her soul and Dassem put the body in the House to preserve it.
It may be that her's is the resurrection we've had an indication of from SE, but for now, she's dead.
Dassem had a daughter...

My main question is why would Hood take Dassem's daughter's soul. It must have had some special properties that were required for the chaining, or perhaps Hood used it as a sign of defiance. Either way it is safe to assume that Dassem's daughter is in stasis at the moment, but effectively dead until revived.

well we don't know what's involved in a chaining, only that it appears to take a sh*t load of fairly powerful people.
We can speculate that without Lady Envy being there extreme measures were necessary and that necessitated the use of a soul to make it happen, perhaps in the way that it took Leganna Breed to seal the portal in DG. Of course he took the head of the Andii with him and so was able to escape. And of course the soul of the Matron was sealing the rent at Morn, until Kilava sent the two Jaghut children into that portal.
I don't think it was necessarily anything special about her soul - just that Hood made a mistake by taking Dassem's daughter and not someone else. We've already seen it written that Dassem had grown to rival Hood in power.

its my fist post and have been reding 4 months but didnt have the courage to post. neway thanx a lot 4 starting this up.
this maybe a dead thread but i have to agree with hetan it takes blood or a soul to bind something of that magnitude. i dont think we ll ever find out why hood used daseem s daughters soul and even if we could ask hood he d probably lie(sorry i loved that line from MOI when krul was talking to envy)

my idea why hood used dassems daughter was to show his dominance over dassem? maybe dassem had been actin up lately and hood still wanted to show he was still the boss? thats just my idea but i dunno im kinda convinced by it:p i also think the daughter is dead and her body is there just to keep it from rotting
