I'm only 80 pages into TCG, but there's been one or two "Holy Moses!" moments already.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

I'm about halfway into this book none of you, and especially not Abyss, care about.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

ok ok ok , let me guess
Is it Twilight?
Wizard's First Rule?
erm... Crossroads of Twilight?
It couldn't be The Crippled God. No way. Nuh uh. 'Cause we all care about that one.

When I get my signed copy from that competition I won, I might reread The Crippled God using both my copies. Odd pages from the one I've already read, even pages from my signed copy. Just, you know, enjoy the whole experience again.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Finished Abercrombie's The Heroes.
About what I expected, which means it is a more than entertaining page turner, but not on the same level, let alone above the standard he set with Best Served Cold, which I think is his best work so far.
in doubt whether to go for my TCG reread now, or let it sink in a bit more and wait for the discussion on the forum to really kick off, and read something else in the meantime.

I was reading it, and stopped to read something else as I wasn't in the mood. It was good, but I agree it wasn't touching how awesome BSC was. Still, quite good and I'll likely finish it after I read TCG.

Halfway through Stonewielder and ICE has definitely improved his writing with each book- hopefully it will finish well. So far good stuff and I'm pacing myself to finish it by Monday and then sprint to the bookstore for TCG on Tuesday morning.
