Ok, I've just finished Alphabet of Thorn by Patricia McKillip and am currently reading Medicine Road by Charles de Lint. This will be followed by another de Lint, Refinery Town, and then I'll be reading The Devil Delivered which was delivered today.

@Nak - actually I am about 30 pages into Last Light of the Sun but I had to put it on the back burner for the Dark Tower series.

Well, I'm taking a break from Redemption Ark for no particular reason, and starting "Incompetnece" (and yes thats how its spelt

Started The Seer King by Chris Bunch. Not massively impressed so far, I think he would be more comfortable in third person, but he's decided to use first person and his narrator is, frankly, quite boring. Distinct "and then" quality to the story so far. I'll stick with it though.

Just bought Shadowkings by Michael Cobley...got it half price
Also picked up Assasins Apprentice by Robin Hobb.

Finished Lolita. Did anyone see either movie (the kubrick one or the new one)? Any good?
Now reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Halfway through and up till now the movie was actually better...

@ Edge "Pandoras Star" takes about 500 pages to get going.Extremely slow compared to his other work.
EDIT : Still reading the "Orcs" omnibus partee one "Bodyguard of Lightning". With no visual character description in the books, Nicholls website has a few paintings of the main protagonists :

Finished the Bill Hicks book, now onto Iain M. Banks' new one, The Algebraist.

Finished: Wuthering Heights! It had a few bearable moments, but overall it was awful. Incredibly dense due to lack of the prolific description that fills modern work (the blurb mentions "evocative description", which is rubbish), and the story is fairly boring anyway. And the characters, well, they're "memorable", in that they have a collective IQ of 50. I mean, the baddie goes around revealing all his plans to everyone, and they don't do anything! The average 16 year old seems to have a mental age of 8 and to be totally incapable of doing anything! AAAAAAGH!
