Finally Finished The Great War for Civilization: The conquest of the Middle East by Robert Fisk Fucking awesome book too. Easily the longest book I've read too, but quite accessible.

Have now started Blood and Oil by Manucher Farmanfarmaian
It's a personal account of one of the princes experience of Iran during the revolution and before and after. So far it's been pretty good.

I just finished Perdido Street Station.
It took me 2 months! to finish it
I have been very busy, preparing for citizenship test and a lot of work and the last but not the least is my English. I am reading fantasy starting from 1998 in English only. I rarely use dictionary if I need it at all. However, PSS posed a real challange to me. I started to write down all words I didn't know and the list gew up to around 220+ words! Unbelievable!
However, I think I liked the book.

Yesterday I started to read The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers.

seeing as I am swamped with work and my reading time is very sporadic, I suspect it will take a while...

well, today was a complicated day, stuff-wise, so when I got home and decided to read "a chapter or 2", I ended up finishing "Grave peril"
I definetely like Butcher's style, reminds me of some of the lighter stuff I've read in Russian a while back, and is constantly entertaining.
unfortunately, Dresden files books are found very irregularly in local bookstores, so I won't be ketting "Summer Knight" for a while..
Next up, Some more Keyes--"Charnel Prince" and "blood Knight"...

i'm reading keyes' Blood Knight right now, it's pretty good. Not spectacular or anything but i'm interested in the characters and the plot is not godawful.

internet has other uses besides pr0n and this forum... buy the blasted books online and dont punish yourself like this....

reading an account of canadian infantry at the front lines in the great war. very comprehensive and incorporates a lot of first hand testimonials.

that war was absolutely the worst, the things that could happen to people are beyond belief. imagine trying to dig a 3 foot trench in the side of a giant crater, and theres no ground only mud, and its caked up to your waist adding like 20 pounds to your body weight, meanwhile people are sniping at you and firing high explosive shells at you.

and don't even get me started on the sickenesses, infections and pestilence that riddled every soldier in the trenches.

Just finished my first GRRM-recommended "punishment" for losing that NFL wager. . .

S. L. Farrell's A Magic of Twilight is a solid effort which should appeal to most fans of epic fantasy. In terms of style, for no reason that I can explain, I found Farrell's style similar to that of Robin Hobb, Tad Williams and, to a lesser extent, C. S. Friedman.

Currently I'm reading a book, which sadly exists only in German, though I'm sure, there are similar ones in other languages. The title is something along the lines of "Generation Stupid - How stupid are we really?"
To be honest, I don't know whether I should laugh or cry when I read about people of my age who have no idea where their home country's capital is located or are proud of knowing nothing/of never having learned anything.. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
And sadly, it's reality. One just needs to go out on the street for evidence.
