I finished Bloody Rose by Eames. He's getting better as a writer and I'd love to see what he does with a series that isn't a quarter rock/pop music references. It's better than Kings by a wide margin.

9/10 while Kings was a 7/10.

Agreed. Wyld was good, this was great, especially the ending.

Thirded. The book was a blast to read/hear. LOL-level funny at times, great action, fun characters.

Stone of Farewll - 2/3 of the way through and it dragging a little. Aditu just found Simon, I think I remember it picking up a little more after this. It's been over 20 years since I last read MS&T.

^I just started my first Tad book, The Dragonbone Chair. I had been warned about the slow start, so I'm really enjoying it 70 pages in. It has a very cozy feel.

I'm also in the middle of some other books that have come up in this topic recently. A little more than halfway through Kings of the Wyld and enjoying it a lot. Also Tigana is pretty amazing...might finish it within the week.

Either way I'm enjoying it even if it feels a bit stupid, that stupidity turned over the anthill in a good way for the story.

EMPIRE OF GRASS by Tad Williams (Last King of Osten Ard Book II) released and dropped onto my kindle this morning, so I'm taking a Dragonlance break to read that.

I had totally forgotten it was coming out so soon. Super excited to get back into it. Loved the last book.

Oh man, I'm excited for you to get to read/hear them for the first time. Is the UK narrator Andrew Wincott? He's AMAZING. So soothing to listen to.

Yes it is him! They're quite low on my queue at the moment but I might push them up.

Finished "the Modern World" , the 3rd Fourlands novel. It started out doing something really epic, but then about halfway through it started to become more character-driven, and ended up as a character development book first and foremost, despite featuring the most epic battle in the series to date.

I'm intrigued. I'll have to look for book 4 before the series gets sold out.

Next on the commute list I'll probably try Glen Cook's "Starfishers" trilogy.

At some stage I need to get back to trying to read. I was about 1/3 of the way through Book 6 of Crown of Stars but this reading funk still has me hard.

Thankfully the book that set off my lack of desire to read has gone to landfill now. Not something I'd ordinarily ever do, but there it is.

Unfortunately the audiobook comes out on 7/2. Very disappointing, I am re-listening to TWC in preperation for today. Now I have to wait 7 weeks. Looking forward to your impressions.

Only about 5% in so far, but it has not disappointed at all!

Fire and Blood is well worth a read (QT was it you who asked me to update you?)

Not as in depth as the original series but serves to remind you what Martin is capable of as a writer when his sprawling plot hasn't run away from him. I really enjoyed it!

Finished Tiamat's Wrath and it was good, probably even very good any slight problems in the first half more then made up for in the second half of the book.

Thats a third top notch book in a row I'm due a disapointment next humm got The Raven Tower, Dragon Pearl, The Forgetting Mooon, Uncanny Collateral and The Hod King at the top of the pile by virtue of being laid on top of it :p

This reminds me that I have a Mjolnir-sized Dragonbone Chair in storage. Maybe I should actually read it someday, but it's absolutely huge.
