I am waiting until Mark finishes the trilogy.

I AM. DAMMIT.

Assh0les.

As you've often said to others about Dresden, Et al.

"Why would you deny yourself the glorious reading enjoyment...to wait?"

I mean, there is already two books out, you may as well.

Mostly because from experience Mark is one of those authors who i really enjoy more when i can read the entire story, beginning middle end, in one go.

I enjoyed the first two BROEKN EMPIRE books but the break until book three dragged and I had some difficulty getting back into it. In contrast, i absofuckinglutely loved loved LOVED reading the entire RED QUEEN'S WAR.

So, that.

...so IT DOES NOT HELP WHEN CERTAIN PEOPLE TALK UP A SERIES THAT ISN'T DONE YET, JUST SAYING.

Abyss, book one was superb if that makes your decision to wait easier

And (and I'm the only one who knows this here so far), GREY SISTER begins with a catchup because Mark knows the wait can be long between books. There's 3 pages of short paragraph "The story thus far" summaries to help anyone who's had to wait for GREY recall what happened in RED and where we left things.

I would expect the same is going to be true of HOLY SISTER (which I read somewhere was already done and in the publishers hands, and will release in 2019)

Lawrence himself told you that, QuickTidal.

I'm amazed by how quickly you forgot that.

You think I forgot it? I was just being coy to Abyss who likely hasn't been on the Lawrence thread.

But part of my comment DOES come from another source (GoodReads comment by Mark) about it being "done" already.

I would be much happier if it was goats.

If you want goats, read the Peter Newman books. They start with The Vagrant. So much fun goat time.

I should get into goat fiction too. Thank you both for the reminder! I think I even have The Vagrant already.

I'd say so.

I think Worry is a perfect match for the goat scenes in Newman's books. They're the right amount of whimsy in between grim/epic/mundane like his posts often are.

LOL I just read he has an actual short story called The Hammer and the Goat. I'm adding this series to my 2018 list (but I have to finish Hobb and then Bakker first).

No one fucks one do they? I mean I’m from the south but I gots me some standards.

No people have sex with a goat. It's mostly short scenes of extremely stubborn goats managing to thrive in a severely post apocalypse world. As if they're the most well adapted to it of pretty much anything alive.

Good short story, but needs to be read in publication order. By itself, it's kind of weird. In context, it's powerful.

I was considering dropping The Expanse, but I started book 7 and I'm glad I did. So nice to be back to having a sense of exploration, and they're actually talking about alien stuff!

Can confirm that The Vagrant is excellent reading and the goat really adds a lot of flavour to the story

Currently reading Heartless by Gail Carriger. This series is the definition of light reading and I love it.

I'll chime in and say that I also thought THE VAGRANT was a blast.

In the minority about here but the Vagrant did very little for me. But the goat was then best character, no doubt

Finished up Red Sister and I'm not as impressed with it as Grey Sister but it was good and the last third of it was pretty awesome. Should just have been a bit more of that awesome a bit earlier, the first third wasn't that interesting.

Probably going to try to finish up Blood and Bone now but its more or less for completions sake except for Kallors storyline its not really catching my interest.
