I finished Deadhouse Landing. That was pretty fun, you guys.

This series is like what the Star Wars PT was meant to be, but, you know, good and not stupid and shit.

Nearly done with The Mirror Empire and while I have serious issues with some parts of the book, I'll probably read the next one merely because it is a very nicely imagined world and the last 25% of the book has been pretty awesome.

Still trying to finish up Dark Transformation book 3 but it is on hold, right now.

Also half way through Vallista which I'm still a bit uncertain on but its been growing on me.

so it's that time of year when I procrastinate a lot on my time off and re-read the last few year's worth of posts in this thread to assemble the forum's recommendations. (As if I don't have enough books to buy)

This is the list I'm coming up with
-Josiah Bancroft "Senlin Ascends"
-"Kings of the Wyld"
-"Ninefox Gambit"
- K V Johansen - "Leopard"
-"Library at Mount Char"
- "The Forgetting Moon" (opinions seem to vary on this one)
-"City of Stairs/Blades/Miracles"

Note: I'm already reading Greatcoats, Staveley, Marc Turner, the Kate Daniels series, and have volume 1 of "Traitor's son" sitting on my desk.

Am I missing anything essential? (I will read Acts of fucking Caine as soon as I purchase an e-reader)

THE WHEEL OF OSHEIM is a phenomenal ending to the series, and it likely won't take you but a few days to read.

But then I enjoyed this series even more than his first trilo.

I would agree, as much as i enjoyed THORNS, this is better. More fun, better action, better world development. Just at the scene where

Finish the third craft book by Gladstone.

I'm liking the series, they've all been quite predictable in the grand plot points and who was betraying who etc (two serpents rise was the most blatant so far but I had book 3 figured out pretty early, right the way down)

They're short enough reads and I can read them on my phone on my tea breaks at work too so I'll finish up the omnibus I have of the first five.

I would recommend them, even though you'll know what's coming they're well written and tightly paced. Page turners

Only made it through Prologue and Chapter 1 of OATHBRINGER last night (both awesome)...and could not read it this morning on the transit because of ALL the LOUD ASSHOLES around me who can't control the volume of their goddamned voices or respect peoples personal boundaries. What I would not give for a "quiet" section on buses and subways. UGH!

Maybe, but there will be the collections and omnibus editions that cut the price drastically to get people in to the earlier books as the series advances.
