From what I'm reading, I'll probably be quite happy with the Mistborn trilogy and then on to other things.

I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream

Got back into Conn Iggulden's 3rd Wars of the Roses book BLOODLINE, and it's as good as the second so far!

Are they anygood? I read his Emperor and Conqueror series but not checked out the Roses.

I got pissed at the historical liberties which weren't even necessary to tell a good story, because Caesar's history is interesting enough to make for good books. He should have given Caesar a Batman cloak and call it Fantasy. Never touched the non-Roman stuff because I don't trust him to do his homework.

OK I found The Final Empire, The Week of Ascension and The Hero of Ages on my Kindle. That's the original Mistborn right? Think I'll start reading this.

Yep. The Essential Sanderson, as it were. I'd take anything that comes after with a pinch of salt, but that trilogy will always be special to me.

Warbreaker was quite good. Stormlight Archive-not so much.

I'm the reverse on this. Warbreaker is his weakest in my eyes, while Stormlight is one of the best series I've ever read.

I liked Stormlight and Mistborn well enough, but couldn't get into Warbreaker.

No clue about that. It's the one with the colour-magic and the talking sword.

Nicholas Monsarrat's The Cruel Sea starts off slow but gets better further in. Enjoying myself.

Gunslinger definitely gets better past the first bit. Feeling in the groove for that one.

Just started the new Brent Weeks - Blood Mirror (Lightbringer #4). Hoping Gavin has a better storyline this time around.

So I have no idea why I never read Mistborn before... The magic system is phenomenal and the backdrop to the action is stunning! Thoroughly enjoying the first book in what little time I get to read ATM...

Indeed. BS is really great when it comes to magic systems. There's supposed to be a PS4 game at some pt.

And potentially movies (hot off the press): http://variety.com/2...dmg-1201902500/

Cool. I think it's a great idea to make movies and games that teach children you get superpowers by sticking rocks in your mouth.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I'm reading A Plague of Swords, book four of Traitor Son. So far, up to scratch. Really like this series.

I wish those books were better edited. I'm an editor myself and so I keep noticing this stuff no matter how hard I try to do some pleasure reading. I gave up after book 1.

Yeah, I generally don't notice that kind of thing unless it's a large-scale story issue but there's so many typos and continuity errors here that even I've noticed some. I think subsequent books have improve on 1 a lot but it's still there.

But not enough to put me off. For the most part, it's minor, easily tune-out-able stuff, there's just rather a lot of it.

Reading The Blood Mirror, Lightbringer #4 and am thankful that Weeks included a summary of previous books. I still think I'd be better off rereading the other 3 again but time has been hard to find of late.

Also bought Cameron's A Plague of Swords to start next. Also considering a reread but that's unlikely too.

Finished Six-gun Tarot . Liked, will look for sequels.

Good mix of Western setting, and classic Cthulhu-esque elements, without ever really dipping into horror.

Next in commute, probably Crimson Campaign

Was able to get about 90 pages into "War of the Flowers" at home, hoping to make some progress over the weekend. It's good, but enough time

Your gonna love it I think for the most part. I'm curious to see if you take QTs or my most frustrating moment or both.

Its the weekend and I am considering hitting it at full speed and not stopping. Wonder if I can get halfway by Sunday night. Posted Image
