I have read already all the Watch books (except the most recent one)...and EQUAL RITES (plus two of the YA Tiffany Aching books)...but now I've gone back and am using that chart that is posted in the other thread to read all the others. I'm starting with PYRAMIDS and will move onto SMALL GODS...and then probably start the DEATH books. But yes, I'm basically going to try to read them all.

Oh you are going to read Witches Abroad for the first time! Mort and Reaper Man for the first time! What I would give to be you and read these books for the first time again

I can't remember the exact quote but Nanny Ogg's and Granny Weatherwax's back and forth about the mounted animal head is one of my most memorable moments of all the discworld books; I even use those lines on my 5 and 3 year old daughters. Small Gods is one of my all time favorite books and anything with DEATH in it is pure gold. It's been a damn decade since I read the discworld books. It may be time to re-read the whole lot of them.

Finished Ketty Jay Book 1. A rolicking read. I am still a bit puzzled about the technology, but I saw most of the backstories coming . I will be picking up the other books.

I suggest Ketty Jay Bk 2. As short and fast as these books are, there's no reason not to knock out the entire series in a go - it's a helluva lot of fun that way.

Finished Tad WIlliams' "Dirty Streets of Heaven". Enjoyed it, but then again, I'm a sucker for a masquerade-themed urban fantasy with implications of epicness, and it don't get much more epic than a cold war of angels and demons risking to go hot.

characters were decent, there were only a few times they frustrated me. Pacing quite decent.

Finished PYRAMIDS, what a fun book! Pratchett goodness throughout. My particular favorite scene was Teppic dismantling the Sphinx's riddle...the banter in that section was genius!

Anyways, going to check out Holly Black's THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST next I think.

Then I'll probably get back to my next DISCWORLD book.

Guh. I tried out THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST by Holly Black...so VERY very YA, and not at all the kind I like.

Then I tried out Joe Abercrombie's HALF A KING. Also very YA...and oh so pedestrian. I kept waiting for something interesting and NOT trite to occur. The thinly veiled Viking story (with gods that are an inexplicable mix between "name the god after what they do" and use pagan sensibilities and christian naming conventions.), the lead who everyone thinks is not worthy showing them that "worthy" isn't always about being the best warrior, the female love interest who is introduced and they not only fall for one another immediately (like in a conversation minutes after they meet)...they'd both been training to be the same thing (and yet Yarvi never knew that, even though their teacher was the same person?). It's just all so meh. Like I don't care if they go raiding. I don't care if Yarvi can use his MIND to beat people at things. I just don't care. Where his main books like to turn tropes on their head...he's using his YA's to tell a straightforward story and it's booooooring.

Apparently Tor have dropped the series so perhaps it's not got as noticed because of that (obviously the UK publishers continued, dunno what the Canada situation is).
Also: I was wondering when you'd notice. I've been mentioning it for a couple of weeks now.

Ah yes... chapters/indigo doesn't have it at all, amazon.ca and .com only have paperbacks from resellers, and .uk won't let me buy it for kindle.
