I have just read Colin McComb's Oathbreaker books, that is the first 2 in a series so far.
Has anyone read this?
I liked them, and hope this will be continued. The story is far from over, the 2 books are just the beginning of the story.

You get that goofy horse head mask, wear it over your V mask, you make a comment on youtube and/or IMDB, and then voila, you automatically become the Internet's worst person.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

You're going to have to be me specific:

Finished FoD a couple of days ago and thought it was terrific (not difficult to agree with TS here!).
Reading Blood Rites (Butcher) at the moment. Very quick, fun read so far ... as always. I'm also reading The Drawing of the Three (King), mostly during my commute.

Had an assignment and for a full day i've read nothing but various versions of the Ontario Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule
now that that's done, i'm moving onto "Quicksilver" by Neal Stephenson, Book 1 in the Baroque Cycle

60 pages into CHASM CITY by Alastair Reynolds.
This is going to be one of those books that you all told me was good, but I still let it languish in the ToRead pile for far too long isn't it?
Cause at 60 pages this book is excellent!

Oh yeah, I've read all three RS trilogy books, the GALACTIC NORTH anthology (that's my fave), and DIAMOND DOGS & TURQUOISE DAYS novella as well.

Cool.
Chasm City is probably the best of them, in my opinion...

Chasm City is going to make some minor stuff make much more sense elsewhere in the Revelation Space universe.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Well into Ex-Patriots, following Ex-Heroes.
Thoroughly entertaining stuff - zombies, superheroes, military robots, and enhanced super soldiers all smacking each other about amid a ton of pop-culture references.
Head-burstingly good.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Been away on a roadtrip for the last week so my reading pace has suffered slightly. I did finish Blood Oath though and thought that the book was tons of fun and can't wait to get into the second one. I'm going to though. My primary book right now is The Darkest Road and I'm enjoying it just as much as the first two in the series so far.

QT what was the title of that Shogun fantasy ish book you read recently?
Don't read it....the sequel is horridly bad. The first book was good, but the sequel is such a letdown that I'd not wish it on anyone.
That said, if you are looking for solid Samurai-ish fare...try Lian Hearn's ACROSS THE NIGHTINGALE FLOOR. That's the beginning of a great series! There are a total of 5 books in the series, 3 main books, and one prequel.

If you want something in an Asian setting (though it isn't necessarily Samurai-ish), I can't recommend Daniel Abraham's The Long Price Quartet highly enough if you've not already read it.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Finished Cold Days a little while back, and after that I read and just finished Year Zero by Rob Reid, which I bought pretty much solely because Abyss posted the back page blurb a year ago. It definitely has some flaws, mostly prose and structural I'd say, but the pace is pretty brisk throughout and there are in fact a lot of genuinely funny moments.

Finally finished Blindsight, which was great in many ways. Unique aliens, well thought out science stuff, interesting philosophy and vampires in space!
Haven't decided what to read next but I downloaded quite a few free classics for my touchpad. Maybe Faust, it's a must-read after all in German literature.

Or Sean Russell's The Initiate Brother and Gatherer of Clouds. More of a Buddhist feel but definitely Asian inspired. Both really good though.
