So we're back then!

Still reading "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" by Susanna Clarke, of course ,as it's the size of a small country and weighs the equivalent of a Rottweiler.

Received at Christmas , "Pashazade" by John Courteny Grimwood, "Liar" by Stephen Fry and "Worlds End" by Mark Chadbourn...also got a hoiday in Barcelona from Mrs Pale Posted Image

I was planning to start that a while ago but the prolouge was so damn bad I left it for something else. I will go back to it sometime, but I'm hoping that that was just a weak moment and the actual book is as good as the first two.

@Dros: how did you get a copy of Virtues of War 2 months early?

Rereading MoI. After that, Riddle-Master, then The Dragon Waiting, then I think I'll re-read Runes of the Earth, or possibly The Wounded Land.

@ Amazing fellow etc : Try Gaimans "Neverwhere" followed by China's "PSS". Both alternate takes on London, PSS being a very outlandish one.

Currently reading: Chasm City by Alastair Reynolds. So far, looking as interesting as Revelation space was.

"War of the Flowers," by Tad Williams. It's a good story, just took a while for it to actually get started.

I want to reread my Gemmell - whats the book after "Quest for Lost Heroes"? Is it me, or do the Drenai novels get not as good? I've only read the first four, but Legend was definitely the best, then each one wasn't as good as the last.

Well, I finally finished Jonathon Strange & Mr Norrell last night. Damn, that was a big book!
And good too. You'll enjoy it, Rodeo. Except that it may be a little bit too like your history textbooks...

Next up is Monash - The Outsider who Won a War by Roland Perry. Early birthday present from my Ma. I love Monash. What a legend of a man!

Ahem...

I'm nearly finished Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb, and then I'll be reading book 3.

So far so good. A good story, although not really a great one. Well worth a read, though (and I suspect most of you already have).

'Gust Front' by Jonny Ringo. Sequel to 'Hymn before dying' which i read for free on the Baen Books site.

Fairly standard hard military SF. Good fun.

- Abyss, wants his own armored combat suit.
