I think I own the first Gaunt omnibus in physical form. I've also bought it at least twice via kindle and Humble Bundle and I think Macros also sent me a highly dubious epub/pdf or something version once.
I'll read them one day. Surely.

I'm so pumped up. Shit I think my The Founding is the one coming in October..from UK. I don't want to wait that long.
I also question just how durable these Omni ed are long term. I was messing around with The Saint and it's big and stiff in my hands so I think I gotta be a bit rough with it in the middle and risk really loosening it up in the process.

Are you posting this from your truck, BK?
I think you're confusing some stuff.

So far so good. I really like the narrative style.

Fantastic book! I loved every page of it.
I'm reading The Empires Ghost by Isabelle Steiger. It was polish I think whom recommended it some time ago. It has everything I don't like in a fantasy. Lost magic, plenty of mysterious pasts, probably at least one prince thought dead, foundlings and princesses. And yet somehow it works and I'm enjoying it immensely.

I'm about 20% into The Crippled God.
And there are threads coming together here I'd really forgotten about, as well as some straight up explanations for motives and even the weird shit with the jade giants.
I'm loving Felash. She is written in a very similar way to Envy, but I really dont care. Krugava is also a pleasure to read. What I'd forgotten was just how much of a role Whiskeyjack and the BBs play - literally taking over from Hood. It's all just coming together so well, and it's definitely making more sense that the last time I read it.

Whilst on vacation, made a good dent in "Oathbringer". 500 pages down in the mmpb now. Overall, Sanderson's pacing problems feel greatly improved, though Shallan is starting to grate a bit again.

I'm reading Orconomics by J. Zachary Pike right now, and it is plenty fun. Lots of sentences well-crafted to be clever, and a fun knock at capitalism and the world of business through a fantasy lens.
Next I'm doing some beta reading and will have to choose a new physical book, with lots to choose from:
The Hod King - Josiah Bancroft
The Liar's Key - Mark Lawrence
We Ride the Storm - Devin Madson
Court of Broken Knives - Anna Smith Spark
Traitor's Blade - Sebastien de Castell
The Gray Bastards - Jonathan French
Malice - John Gwynne
The 1,000 Names - Django Wexler
Stormblood by Jeremy Szal should be showing up sometime soon...
...and hey Rejoice! A Knife to the Heart by Steve to boot. Maybe more I'm forgetting.

@BK
"Might be just as messy after all the years of anticipation as I thrust myself into it."
Probably just as brief too.
@Tatt
I liked Orconomics as well. I have the sequel - Son of a Lich - in the TRP.
The Grey Bastards was fun, kinda stuck halfway in the sequel - The True Bastards.
I'll get around to reading book 2 of the John Gwynne series one day. it was OK I guess, but not enough that I had to go and and get the rest of series immediately or anything.
Everyone needs to read Rejoice! A Knife to the Heart IMMEDIATELY!!!

Finished Changes! Onto Ghost Story!
And my oh my but isn't Changes just superb? The ending sequence in Mexico is as epic and thrilling as anything in Malazan imo. Definitely up there as a favourite. Possibly why Ghost Story for be is my last favourite in the series...

GS is a quieter book after the up upheaval of CHANGES. It had to be.
And the finale utterly rocks.
In an effort to kill time til BATTLEGROUND, considering much of the chatter here, I started HORUS RISING.
Must admit, a few chapters in, the action is fun but there is way more philosophizing than I expected.

Fun action and a lot of philosophising ... sounds familiar but I can't quite place it.

Finished CURSE OF THE MISTWRAITH, and it was solid. It’s definitely a slow burn, and the prose style makes you take your time... but I was impressed enough to dive into THE SHIPS OF MERIOR right away and I love that is opened on a chapter where...
Like, LOL! So funny.

True. It's exactly what is needed after such an epic story, and it does work. Point of fact, I'm enjoying loads more this time round, they work extremely well back to back.

I read Susannah Clarke's second novel, Piranesi. I don't know what I was expecting but something akin to a Christopher Priest novel was not it.
