Read a book yesterday that really depressed me.
Man Search for Meaning
I think that was it's name, the tag line is basically a message of hope from the Holocaust.
Fuck me if this is messages of hope I don't know.
This is grim reading, it's short, and supposed to show how man can find hope in even the grimmest places, a I could get from it was how dehumanising the camps were and how horrific it was.
Left me so down I had to pick up Legend today and reread it again to lift me up.

So I just finished Jemisin's How Long Till Black Future Month, and wow.... this anthology is absolutely superb. Hard hitting, beautifully written and very authentic.
Yup. It's a real showcase of how good she is across a whole range of spec fic. Her next series is expanding on the concepts of The City Born Great, which is so intriguing.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Just finished In The Ruins.
Need to have a look at my TRP and see what I read next then, first time I've done this in like 14 months.

Through Chapter 24 of Gideon. I really like Palamedes and Dulcinea (and Gideon of course.)

Ch 19, and agreed. Both excellent characters with a lot going on.
I'm impressed by how the author has steadily worked in the rest of the cast and kept them distinct.
Gideon is awesome and hysterical.... ffs, the sunglasses!

You have all endorsed it, so I'll likely nab it when I can find it at the library.

Gah, I got to page 300 (out of 450?) during lunch. I anticipate not getting a lot of sleep tonight...

Nearly done with "King's Blood" (probably will finish it in my commute tomorrow). I'm beginning to notice some interesting parallels with Bakker's work. Curious how that'll go.

Tried Jeff Salyards SCOURGE OF THE BETRAYER. Fucking hell, what a pretentious load of twaddle. Not for me.

Since I had less than 30 pages left, finished "King's Blood" at home. The direction in which the plot is going makes sense.
Gonna start "Tyrant's Law" tomorrow.

Sure, but it's gonna be a while, I have a pile of books high enough that I'm gonna need to apply for airspace clearance to make it any higher as it is
