I am going to be utterly shameless and declare that you should read my debut boxing article here, where many of you will see it, rather than in its proper place on the sports forum, where like two poeple will.

(it's a new site launched by some mates of mine that they kindly asked me to write for. Non fight fans will probably find it equal parts boring and baffling, but fight fans will love the sheer amount of in-depth content we've lobbed out in the week since it launched)
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

When on the Malazan Empire forums, do as the Malazan Empire forumites do — off to purchase Gideon.

What is the series that many of you like that sorta starts young adult, but turns into a lot a lot going on in a fun way?
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I read it, pg. I don't know much about boxing but I enjoyed the expert use of gifs!

Thanks guys.

If possible, you can work out a deal with ZombieProphet to have him make the gifts for you. I used to do that when I wrote at Bloody Elbow many years ago doing the grappling breakdowns. He's a perfect gif maker if you give him the timestamps and video.

Just started that Friedman one that I got recommended.

Some of the terminology is not settling, and I'm not going to say un- because someone in this is riding a fall off horse.

Also re Gideon I will take some opinions from my reading group. From what you guys say it all sounds dandy but I'm not getting burned by a hype train for a third time.

It's funny isn't it...? ....those times when a chunk of this Forum gets all buzzy about a book and some little part of your brain just wants.... very water-cooler'esque.

Mostly my brain doesn't want to jump on a hype train that face slams me into a reading brick wall again, given that I've only just started reading again after the last one I was assured was brilliant (and wasn't).

I will watch like a cautious sneaky rogue and consider.

Got back into Melanie Rawn's EXILE: THE RUINS OF AMBRAI as the lovely Whelan cover kept staring at me from the ToReadPile...and this time I finally got past the SUPER long prologue (53pages) and into the meat of the story of the three main characters and now it's REALLY enthralling. Getting deep info on Lenfell, the families, the matriarchal society and the politicking. Solid stuff.

And yes, I'm aware that she's not finished the trilogy yet. I know I'm only asking for a long wait after book 2...still...

It's finding the timestamps that I want that's the problem really (I wrote the article first and picked out the gifs first, and finding illustrations in the specific of things that seem really obvious taken in the fight as a whole isn't super-easy), once there it's not too long a process. And this was my first time, I'll undoubtedly get faster.

Cheers though.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
