Gardens of the Moon. Yayness! Second read through. I got to Midnight Tides and lost interest half way through so I went back to the old mother, which I love all the more because it makes sense now!

What?! You missed the best half! Go back and finish MT, or you'll regret it...
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Just finished Paul S. Kemp's DAWN OF NIGHT. It was a disappointment. . .

Full review on the blog, as always.

Finishing Vellum by Hal Duncan.. Great book, though a bit... frustrating during the first hundred pages or so following the intro

Nearing the end of If on a winter's night a traveller by Italo Calvino. Interesting, if not consistently engaging (I believe that may be a fault of the translation).

Warlord by Ilario Pantano. It's the story of an ex-Marine who re-enlisted in the Corps after 9/11, and would ultimately be investigated for murdering two Iraqis. Surprisingly well written and fascinating so far...
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I just finished A FORTRESS OF GREY ICE by JV Jones.

I like it, but I find myself in a rut. I can't stand reading the female characters. It just boils my blood to read how much they go through and how much they have to do, because in all reality it's not much. Except for maybe Rianna and Effie.... so it's really only Ash Marshs that I have a problem with ;) Her POVs are especially mind bending. All this nonsense about "Becoming sull" Is driving me up the wall.

****! She writes some good male characters. but much like Kate elliot, Her female characters lack something. Like brains; which I find strange since you would think A female author would go through alot to make a female character who is well developed.

I started and finished A Scanner Darkly again this morning.

After watching the movie the book seems even better then before (If thats possible)
I love how PKD tells his stories, they involve alot of effort to get through his message.

Anyone who dosn't read Philip K. Dick; I highly reccomend him.

Always in Greg keyes with The Blood Knight , aah yes now I remember how he stops the chapter when the character is in a bad situation ... It's becoming stranger , though

And La Peine de Mort de Voltaire & Badinter , the history of the death penalty over the centuries , specially in Europe

I recently finished "Cold Comfort Farm" by Stella Gibbons and thoroughly enjoyed it. I read it in one day. If you like Evelyn Waugh (which I do) then you will like this. I wish I lived in an England where people still dressed for dinner and regularly drank cocktails *sigh*.
