Finished Pride of Carthage, very good book, though it got fairly depressing toward the end.
Gonna read The Wasp Factory again, and I think the Emperor series by Conn Iggulden...

Finally got started on Woken Furies again. Next in line is Fledling by Octavia Butler, for a reading group that I got coerced into joining. It's not my cup of tea but at least it's sci-fi.

I'm in the middle of Sarah Ash's second volume in the Tears of Artamon trilogy, PRISONER OF THE IRONSEA TOWER. Not bad so far, but certainly not great. . .

Just finished Al Reynolds "Pushing Ice" and have been in contact with Al to express my appreciation.

Started "Cry Of The Newborn" 900 pages to go..so so..so far.

( I've not read any of the threads to GRRMS FOC, so any thoughts ? )

Hopefully when I get back home, Brood will have sent some books to me, and I can start on the Blood Follows or some such book, he sent me all the SE non-MBOTF books, and Night of Knives, which means that while I have already bought him a pint and could cross him off my list I think for providing such a service he deserves another. :D

Til I get back though, I am reading The Wasp Factory for the second time. It's grand stuff.

Still busy with Cornwells books(currently the Arthur series). Wonderful stuff.

When they are done I'm returning to Iggulden to finish off that series. Another winner.

And after that It wont be long until Bonehunters arrive. Wohoo.

Rich what did you make of Catch-22??

House of Leaves is a very very odd book indeed, another one of those 10 years in the making books! It is excellent though, would be even better if it were real!

Found the style of it slightly confusing when I first started so I wasn't sure whether I would continue to the end, but as I went on it was hugely amusing and insightful in its cynicism. A very good read indeed.

Finished Kushiel's Dart. First third was dull, middle third was semi-interesting, the last third was dull again. Not recommended...

Hi guys!

I just read Sarah Ash's PRISONER OF THE IRONSEA TOWER.

The novel's main shortcoming remains the characterizations. In my previous book review I stated that they were clumsy at times. I now realize that I was wrong in my assumption. The characterizations are not clumsy, they are juvenile. And I don't mean this in a derogatory way. It's just that Ash's characterizations remind me of those of authors such as R. A. Salvatore, J. V. Jones, and Elizabeth Haydon. Hence, fans of those writers could well enjoy this series.

In conclusion, I'm persuaded that this trilogy could be highly successful if it was marketed toward a younger audience. God knows there are legions of teenagers purchasing fantasy novels! Truth to tell, it might not be greeted with the same sort of enthusiasm by aficionados of the genre and fans of such authors as Martin, Erikson, MiƩville, Bakker, Jordan, Hobb, etc. I feel it's just not complex and ambitious enough. . .

For the full review, you can always check the blog! By the way, I have 3 copies of Elizabeth Kostova's THE HISTORIAN up for grabs!

I finished A Song for Arbonne the other day... or week, rather, and am now moving onto the Lions of Al-Rassan

I should probably also reread House of Leaves as I haven't read in in two or three years...

I'm reading at the moment in this forums :)

The Book I'm reading these days is GotM - again, but this time english

Long time ago i read it in its german version. but I'm tired of waiting so long of new releases, therefore I began to read english. the books are released (understandably) erlier in english than in german. for example - the bonehunters will release on March 1st but the second part of midnight tides is in germany not released at the moment... (will be released in july...) quite dissatisfying

'm putting a few books to rest now, Paul Auster's Brooklyn Follies, Tobias Buckell's Crystal Rain, and a reread of Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora before a review.

I recenty started Hamilton's Judas Unchained, and Diana Wynne Jones' Tough Guide to Fantasyland , and non-fiction, hugo nominated effort from the past.

Looking to starting Jeff Vandermeer's Shriek: an afterword

Well I started Hyperion by Dan Simmons, but I just couldn't stand putting off GRRM's A Feast for Crows any longer, so I switched to that...

Besides Jack Whyte's The Eagle, I'm currently reading both the poetic and prose Eddas. For school, of course.
