Spoiler
Siyon's fight w the sea monster was interesting, echoes of the griffin, and very different from the dragon. I like how Ismarillion is 'back' but not, and am enjoying the disparity of reactions to Siyon, between the Azarti distrusting him, the common people supporting him, the alchemists everywhere in between, the Shadow cult borderline worshipping him, the Braavi seeing him as one of theirs,... the connection to Bezim is well laid out and explains why he's just left town.
Anahid... Lakshmi still steals every scene she's in but i'm loving this 'high society lady being pressured to become a murderous crime baron'. It's ridiculous but it works... the city needs someone to fill a roll, and like Siyon, Ana is being steered by virtually everyone and everything around her. Even her attempt to make the new Lady Barons take over from their dead dad is doomed to backfire and force her to murder some more. Also i fear for Lakshmi after Ana states so flatly how badly she needs her.
Zagiri... remains annoying. I'm not skimming her chapters bcs the Braavi bits are still fun and the way the author winds everything together i don't want to miss something that will matter later, but even so... annoying.
