I loved in Wales for nearly 10 years and had to learn a bit of Welsh for work. I could be paid sand tell you that the double L doesn't work like that but actually I just tried saying the word Lliberalls and all I can say is you need a lot of phlegm to make it through...

I'm not in the blanket ban frame of mind, but I'd be in favour of a system where fireworks could only be used under license by for example local councils putting on displays for holidays like Diwali or Bonfire Night, with the expectation they would be in sensible locations (away from livestock etc), anyone living in the area was informed and what have you.

We hear them going off in the day almost every day here, and I remember kids getting hold of them at my school and setting them off towards groups of people. I also spent a horrible morning in my teens helping retrieve horses from nearby fields because an inconsiderate neighbour to the stable had decided to have them in his garden, with no warning. One of the horses had run through barbed wire in panic - and yes, that looks just as messy as you'd expect. Thankfully they were all fine but that's partially why I'd be happier if it wasn't just left to common sense to use them responsibly.

I’m more concerned about the use of fireworks and their effects on the environment. I feel like at this stage of the game we need to look at everything we do and what the consequences are for the future. So I would say, licensed people only on certain times of the year using fireworks that produce minimal impact to the environment.
