2025 was... kinda decent?
I banked a bunch of cash, and the parents and I were able to put together decent payout on the mortgage.
Need to take weight gain/exercising more seriously this year, and most likely this means working on my sleep patterns.
I'll nail down more specifics over the weekend, still in holiday chaos recovery mode RN.
edit: real goals time
Health/development - slim down to 90 kg or under by November, get a driver's license, improve overall fitness.
1) identify driving school in my city by end of January. Apply in Feb. Schedule a drive test by end of August
2) Get a YMCA membership in Wasaga. Swim at least once a week in the non-beach months
3) Do at least 1 weights and 1 cardio workout a week while in wasaga. Stetching/yoga workouts as needed
4) sign up for outdoor in Wasaga this summer
5) shut down the PC by 1AM on worknights. Read at least 2 chapters a night before sleep.
6) once the weather improves, do at least one long (3+ h) bike ride a week. While at my parents' place, map out the southern routes. In Wasaga, explore the East End trails.
7) keep casual drinking down to 3 days a week.
8) cut out buying junk food, and stop snacking after 10 PM.
Hobbies
1) finish and frame at least 7 jigsaws (this is hobby I went back to last year, I have one finished, and 3 more bought already. I also got a special easel for them as a holiday gift!)
2) put up the darts set by end of May (weather is an issue with outdoor placement)
3) Reading- finish at least 15 new books (re-reads don't count- see the reading resolutions thread). Out of these, at least 3 non-fiction books.
4) gaming- see the gaming resolutions thread. Additionally, play at least 1 of the "random obscure games" list in my Steam library a month
5) complete 30 Steam reviews this year
6) set up a new email account for a review site by end of January. Start the site by end of March. Write there at least once a month.
Social
1) make sure to meet up with people each time I come down south
2) speak to extended family at least once a month
3) look into local groups for chess and pool in Wasaga by end of February
4) buy a good headset and play some co-op games with friends that are offering to keep in touch.
5) make sure to go through birthday notifications at least once a week, and actually write to people
Financial
1) have at least 9 k set aside in cash by end of year in emergency fund
2) maintain over 15k in the bank after wrapping up tax season
3) keep gaming purchases under 200/month (350 for big sales, let's be real here)
4) do not buy any additional hardware (beyond replacement parts)
(realistically, if/when the war ends and I stop needing to send money home at a regular basis, saving should go a lot smoother. But that's a big if/when)
Now I need to print this and pin it somewhere it will keep mocking me.
