I ack Scanlan and Pike are Gnomes, but for all purposes of the Vox Machina tv show the distinction is without a difference, and they're pretty great.
Are there any good halflings besides Hobbits?

Mazzy Fentan (who Amph mentioned) is a really lovely playable NPC in Baldur's Gate 2 - she wants to be a paladin, but none of the knightly orders will take her because she's a halfling. She's a sweetheart with absolutelty iron principles. I don't know if she ever made it out of the game into any other media though.

Mazzy now has her own MtG card in which she's achieved the dream of being a paladin.
