In all of tantasy-dom, are there any good halflings besides the Hobbits?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Do Gnomes count?

Yah gnomes count, if they're like this. Terry Brooks has halfling-style gnomes in Shannara, but they're all buttholes.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Both good.

Nelwyns and Kenders respectively.

Miles Vorkosigan is a great halfling.

I've always thought Regis from Forgotten Realms was a terrible character.

I don't really know anything about Mazzy from D&D, but she seems to be known.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Seconding Kender.

Old ADnD had a campaign world, Black Sun, that included tribes of feral halflings riding around the desert on velociraptors.

Dark Crystal Gelflings... the name suggests elves but i always thought they were closer to skinny Hobbits/Halflings than anything else.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot the kender in Dragonlance, already offered.

Mazzy Fentan (who Amph mentioned) is a really lovely playable NPC in Baldur's Gate 2 - she wants to be a paladin, but none of the knightly orders will take her because she's a halfling. She's a sweetheart with absolutelty iron principles. I don't know if she ever made it out of the game into any other media though.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Surely you jest? Those irritating little plot-armoured hairballs should have all ended up as bloody smears under an AT-STs feet. :p

Mazzy now has her own MtG card in which she's achieved the dream of being a paladin.

Low-hanging fruit, certainly, but if Mazzy gets a place, Alora should too. Didn't take her along too many times but am pretty sure she wasn't all evil

Regis is (deliberately) an arsehole but there are better halflings in the Forgotten Realms, particularly in the Finder's Bane Trilogy. Given there's an entire massive kingdom of halflings in the Realms (Luiren) it's weird they never done anything much with it in the books.
