I have twin newborns and I don't think I've had more than 3 hours sleep in a given night in weeks...

And with the shifts I work I lose a lot of sleep anyway.

So basically I think I'm on the edge of some kind of breakdown which is fun haha

Got a new bed a month ago! I sleep like a log.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

My sleep is great but that is mainly down to the medication, it is a ridiculously strong sedative so it kicks my ass. I can sleep for as long as I want to on it and I need my sleep as that is a big trigger, tiredness.

Before that though, I'd be going 3 - 4 nights without sleep, especially when in mania and not be feeling tired at all.

Every night I go to sleep to escape thinking about the insurmountable issues of my new job. Every night I dream about impossible problems related to my new job. When I wake up I'm not quite sure what I did the day before. What day is this?

Terribly. For some reason I can't fall asleep on my side anymore, but that used to be the comfiest position.

I've just started obsessively thinking about work at sleep time again. This morning I slept in a bit, woke up surprised it was light but also realised I had somehow been planning my team members utilisation objectives for the year while I was asleep.

Generally sleep fairly well. I have the odd night once a month or so where I wake up at 3 or 4am and never get back to sleep, but otherwise fine.

If I get 5 hours on a night before work, it's a miracle. Usually no more than 4. For similar reasons.

Do you guys do that thing where you move the clocks forward an hour in the spring? I think you guys call it "bank holiday time"? (or something like that). Anyway, that is the worst and it messes up my sleep for a few days. We move our clocks forward this weekend. Not looking forward to the few miserable mornings next week.

Brain working obsessively on math problems as I try to sleep, sometimes waking up early to write down possible solutions....

If I don't wake up writing down equations or ideas for proofs, I usually wake up singing or typing out song lyrics.

Managed to successfully change my sleep schedule from waking around noon to waking around 9 AM. Turns out 3 tablespoons of tart cherry 3x per day wasn't necessary, though I still have 3 in the morning. After 9 PM I put on amber blueblocking glasses and mainly use red lights. In the morning I use a SAD lamp and red light.

I've generally been getting my main exercise right before bed---pacing for an hour listening to an audiobook.

It's been around 60 degrees in my apartment. My mattress can get a bit cold, but I've been using the unused heat-reflecting cat mats I got for my elderly cat as she lay dying (and kept soiling her heated mats, so I bought a supply), one under my feet, one under where my heart rests when I sleep on my left side.

I fee like I'm stuck a bit of a vicious cycle recently. I work long hours > I stay up longer to get some me time > I don't get enough sleep > I'm not that efficient at work > I work long hours.

So overall my sleep is bad and I'd like to improve it in theory but I suck at that in practice.

Do those weighted blankets work? I think it might be ruse to make people open their wallets, but I now and again see them being touted as beneficial to sleep.

"I stay up longer to get some me time"

I gave that bit up and feel better for it. I stay up late occasionally when I'm extra pissed off and always regret it. Better just to get the zzz's, it makes the next day more tolerable.

Brutal Monday start because of the time change. Always sucks in the Spring when time is moved forward an hour. It's a cozy delight in the fall when time is moved back an hour. Love that feeling of sleeping in for an extra hour. Gonna be a brutal week until adjustment is complete.

Blackout curtain + white noise generator works wonders. I dream almost every night as long as workout that day too.
