Draconic family tree link?

Well it seems that the Elder Gods arrived long before the Tiste races set foot on Malaz, well perhaps not as long before the first wave of Andii. Osserc told his daughters that "it was bloodeye's decision(or w/e) to think he could defeat this world's Gods" So the Elders had already established themselves as the Gods of Malazan world and Ossric was one of them, and so comes the whole discussion of the Elder's being Mother Dark's first children, yada yada. So it's pretty clear they think of her as the omnipotent being the universe. Who seems to be dying:eek: (is it just me or did i just babble a bunch of facts there...)
But hey we could be just disccusing things that have no relevance...because I CLEARLY remember Patch telling us he altered the Tree to make things confusing for us...

Crap, I must deleted my post somehow.
@ Hetan
I know they probly can cross worlds but the thing is they dont or almost never do. They seem to wanna stay in malaz world. Otherwise when mr.Cripple got torn assunder from his world/realm the other elder gods would have been like 'Oh its you? ha, too bad getting torn out of your realm in here eh."
Back that up with a quote and I'll gladly admit im wrong. I know the Tiste see her as the pre-eminent being, but do the elder gods ?

Well it's just speculation on my part here Hume. As I said yada yada that quote further and we get into that whole Mother Dark and the Elder's being her first children and what not...well if not omnipotent they still view her as a very important being. Without her everything comes to an end.
Then we get into the whole debate on wether to believe Osric or to believe Anomander when it comes to MD's first children...endless in my opinion. But point being they still view her in high regard.

Yeah hence the Elders went after Bloodeye cause he was to blame. They also had to send Osric to stop Rake from getting to him first lol as he was pretty pissed off having just lost a brother and few hundered thousand of his people.

well don't think so - about the meeting them part. If you remember from House of Chains we find out that his chlidren are exactly like him, in personality that is, and they're pretty much wandering across the relams or wherever. Besides most of Rake's direct descents are on Drift Avalli. There is a Phaed on the island, but I'm not sure wether it is the Phaed on the Tree or just a grand child of Rake as Cutter says that the Andii there are all Rake's grandkids and what not.
Plus...having Rake's kids in the game would kinda sour things in my opinion lol.

If then the Phaed on Drift Avalli is the Phaed as in Rakes kid - I think they probably would have had more chance against the Edur.

Why do you say that Tiste ?
Do you automatically assume that Rake's kids ro Grandkids are superwarriors ?

No warriors necessarily, but Rake and Envy as parents.. they gotta have decent amount of sorcerous powers. Grandchildren I can accept being relatively powerless.

Thats something I've been wondering if their draconic half breed then thats dragon and what? or maybe their what happens when you don't listen to mommy dragon and finish you charred cow:D?
If MD is tiam and the rests mom or something then doesn't that make anomandaris inherently draconic along with the rest of the andii? I thought to be a draconic soletaken you needed to drink Tiam (or another pure blood dragon) I see a problem right there but otherwise it makes sense.

HUME - What Vaiski said.
Family traits do run true, it appears especially in more confined communities such as an Andii one... you would have thought Rake would want his children to have a fairly competent grasp of KG, if only so he didn't have to protect them.

The Tiste Andi, Edur, Liosan are a race - like the Imass or whatever and are not inherently draconic….
It's the Tiam juice that created the soletaken Anomander, Silchas and certainly Korlat as far as we know.
We don't know if the same rule applies to Osserc/Scabandari/various, but
from this :
Osserc "I should wash my hands of it - all of it" and Menandore's reply "But you can't. We are all poisoned by the mother's blood after all"
it would seem pretty safe to assume they've all had a sip.

That puts them all at scene of the murder Did they all decide to drink her blood and if so then why did they do it?

Not sure that it all happened at the same time Dolmen... and it wasn't necessarily murder.
Tiam appears to be doomed to die each time she gives birth, dies and is reborn.
...only the last time she died it appeared that the mixed bloods didn't want her to return.

yeah but how do soletaken dragons that probably haven't drunk Tiams blood fit in with the whole scheme of things

Er... do we know of ANY soletaken dragons not connected to Tiam's blood?

Nope. Not as yet. Though I dunno if the OD became OD by drinking Tiams blood... but no-one knows where the OD came from...
