Holy Crap.
Has anyone else seen the movie Appleseed ?
That movie is freaking awesome. The animations are great. Fight scenes are choreographed by real people in the best way possible. The only thing that bugged me was the character Hitomi. The voice actor for her and the character design made her look a little too much like a porcelin doll. Apart from that though, Top movie. Had an awesome soundtrack as well.
Cant wait to get a hold on the series and see the sequal next year.
Its basically about some awesome fighter chick who holds the secret to survival to some utopian type last human city with political intrigues and the like and the normal social type robot commentary sort of stuff.

it's a weird anime, it's more psychological in nature, and philosophical. kinda like the later episodes of Evangelion with less action and no huge robots... and the little kid isn't whining as much...
ok, maybe I could have found a better anime to compare it with
but they're both pretty dark and brooding.I hope that helps

lain... i have 7 eps on dvd, or, at least, that's all the eps a friend sent me... is that all there is to Lain?
i watched 5 eps. then i got bored. i understand that there's a psychological an phylosophical edge to it... but it's just... nothing happens! literally! they're 20 minute eps and in 15 of those 20 minutes - if you're lucky, that is - you're staring at a girl, who's staring at her own computerscreen. or she's fixing the pc in a bear suit. or she's watching the view and every now and then, cars pass by. oh yes, one ep, people were in a disco, and i believe a few got shot. that was the 5 of the 20 minutes that something actually happened. one ep in 5.
but still, i'm curious as to how it's gonna end i'm not doing it now (although i'm quite tempted - i should be studying) but i'll definitely pick it up again in the nearby future 
please just tell me there's not more than 7 eps... or maybe 9 at the most...
best anime series: Full Metal Panic! and in particular season 3: The Second Raid. gods that gave me the chills...
