Now that you mention Tehol I want to ask. Why is Tehol so popular among readers?

I didn't mind Tehol in MT, but in the following books he appears in I found him annoying as fuck. I found his dialogue to be completely unbelievable, as he only has witty phrases. Seriously, who talks like this? I do admit I was disappointed he wasn't killed in RG.

Well it is fantasy, and Tehol's special fantasy power ability seems to be his incredible genius. And it takes quite the level of intelligence to be funny and witty. And people like funny smart people. Seems far more believable and relatable than loving, say, Yedan Deryg for being able to fcuk up dragons.
