I don't understand why you won't accept this deal, it still comes out exactly the same in the end but is binding

It makes everything more complicated for no reason. I've never broken a single deal I've made this game, and hardly ever in any previous games. You'd think that track record would speak for itself.
It really isn't any more complicated, in my view it's simpler as the majority of the results from trading can be seen in the post of the person who plays trade. It's not a comment on your particular trustworthiness, it's just the best way to make sure all trade deals are binding. I like this way of doing trade and if it's the hill I have to die on fine.
I guess check in with me before playing Trade then, I'll see where we're at in the round and whether or not a free refresh is worth doing complicated trades with you.
My worry about this is that it doesn't guarantee you'll play the Trade Agreement right away, and it's not binding on YOU to do so. If you decide after having bought my agreement not to use it right away it gives me extra TGs to play with now, but then I have no control over when you decide to use it, which means that you could keep it to screw me in the next round or two when those extra TGs from a Trade refresh might actually be critical for a win.
There is no struggle too vast, no odds too overwhelming, for even should we fail - should we fall - we will know that we have lived. ~ Anomander Rake

I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that self-vote suiciding will forever be referred to as "pulling a JPK" now, aren't I? ~ JPK
